Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to supervise and execute electrical and instrumentation installation activities on a large-scale construction project. The successful candidate will ensure all installation works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

The E&I Engineer will work closely with construction, engineering, QA/QC, commissioning teams, and subcontractors to ensure proper installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and timely project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise electrical installation activities, including medium- and low-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), distribution panels, UPS systems, and associated power infrastructure.
  • Monitor cable tray installation, cable pulling, glanding, termination, and testing activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
  • Ensure proper installation of earthing and grounding systems, lightning protection systems, and hazardous-area electrical equipment where applicable.
  • Supervise the installation of field instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, control valves, analyzers, junction boxes, and marshalling cabinets.
  • Oversee instrument tubing installation, impulse lines, supports, tagging, and identification in accordance with engineering drawings.
  • Support loop checking, calibration, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities in coordination with project teams.
  • Review and interpret technical documentation, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, and layout drawings to ensure accurate site execution.
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC, and subcontractor teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project progress.
  • Ensure all installation activities comply with project specifications, applicable international standards, and quality requirements.
  • Participate in inspections, support punch list clearance, manage technical queries, and maintain accurate installation and as-built documentation.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing HSE procedures, participating in risk assessments and toolbox talks, and ensuring safe work practices on site.
  • Monitor daily progress, prepare status updates, and support timely completion of project milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation installation on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, power infrastructure, and instrumentation and control systems.
  • Experience with electrical and instrumentation testing equipment and installation tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, hook-up drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with applicable international electrical and instrumentation standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred; experience with Primavera P6 is an advantage.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary construction environments is preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
