The posting

Job Summary:

The Day Shift Team Lead – Mobile Operator is responsible for leading a team of mobile operators during the day shifts to ensure all scheduled equipment deployments are executed accurately, safely, and on time. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for night shift operations across Washington State, maintaining schedule compliance, vehicle and equipment readiness, and team performance in the absence of daytime management. The ideal candidate combines strong field operations experience with the leadership presence to guide a team through dynamic, time-sensitive deployments.

Job Description:

Shift Leadership & Schedule Compliance

  • Lead and oversee the day shift team of mobile operators, ensuring all deployments are completed on schedule and to standard.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the shift, making real-time decisions in the absence of daytime management.
  • Monitor shift performance and proactively address coverage gaps, call-offs, or schedule changes to prevent missed deployments.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate deployment plans, route assignments, equipment status, and any operational updates.
  • Ensure all team members follow company procedures, safety policies, and applicable laws throughout the shift.

Mobile Operations & Equipment Deployment

  • Operate and deploy mobile enforcement equipment (trailers, vehicles, and associated systems) at designated sites across Washington State.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set up, configured, and functioning before and during each deployment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues in the field and coordinate resolution with maintenance or on-call technicians as needed.
  • Safely transport trailers and vehicles between deployment sites and shop locations in Western and Eastern Washington.
  • Conduct post-deployment equipment checks and report any issues, damage, or maintenance needs.

Team Support & Development

  • Provide hands-on guidance and on-the-job training to mobile operators during the shift.
  • Mentor less experienced team members on deployment procedures, equipment handling, and safety best practices.
  • Provide coverage support as needed, stepping in directly on deployments when short-staffed.
  • Offer timely feedback to team members and escalate performance concerns to the Field Operations Manager.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate shift logs, deployment records, and equipment status updates using tracking software.
  • Report shift outcomes, incidents, and equipment issues to daytime management at shift handoff.
  • Track operator hours, route completions, and any schedule deviations.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.

Vehicle & Fleet Readiness

  • Verify vehicle and trailer readiness at the start of each shift, including fuel levels, cleanliness, and equipment functionality.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to flag and schedule repairs for any fleet issues identified during the shift.
  • Operate company vehicles in compliance with all Washington State traffic laws and company driving policies.
  • Support transportation of trailers and vehicles between Western and Eastern Washington locations as operationally required.

Communication & Coordination

  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch, daytime leadership, and field technicians throughout the shift.
  • Use scheduling and tracking software to provide real-time deployment updates.
  • Escalate critical issues (equipment failures, safety concerns, staffing emergencies) promptly to the appropriate contact.
  • Coordinate with vendors or on-call resources as needed to resolve field issues during overnight hours.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in field operations, mobile operations, or a related role.
  • Prior experience in a lead, supervisory, or team lead capacity.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate vehicles towing trailers.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment and perform basic troubleshooting in the field.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage a team under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable leading peers during overnight shifts.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with equipment deployment.
  • Proficient in using scheduling, tracking, and reporting software or mobile apps.
  • Availability to work consistent overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to travel between Western and Eastern Washington as operationally required.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in automated traffic enforcement, public safety technology, or similar field service environments.
  • Familiarity with trailer operations, fleet management, or DOT regulations.
  • CDL or experience towing commercial trailers.
  • Experience using GPS tracking or deployment management platforms.
  • Background in training or mentoring field operations staff.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

AI & Technology

Elovate encourages Night Shift Team Leads to leverage technology and AI tools to run smarter shifts, communicate more effectively, and keep operations moving without friction.

  • Use AI-assisted tools to streamline shift documentation — deployment logs, incident reports, and shift handoff summaries.
  • Leverage scheduling and tracking platforms to monitor team location, route progress, and deployment status in real time.
  • Apply AI tools to surface patterns in shift data — missed deployments, equipment issues, operator performance — to support continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on technology tools relevant to field operations and mobile deployments, bringing useful capabilities to the team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
