Job Title:

Controller, India Middle-East & Africa

Summary:

Responsible for leading the full controllership, financial governance, regional financial compliance, and reporting for IMEA operations. The role oversees financial integrity, internal controls, statutory reporting, and business partnering to support organizational performance.

Responsibilities Include:

Tasks and responsibilities of the position:

  • Ownership of complete financial statements for all IMEA legal entities (US GAAP, IFRS & local statutory).
  • Ensure timely, accurate monthly/quarterly/annual close and regional consolidation for global reporting.
  • Lead periodic financial reviews with senior leadership and recommend corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls; act as the regional IFC/SOX process owner.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, local statutory requirements, and audit expectations.
  • Lead internal/external audit cycles and drive remediation of findings.
  • Manage and approve revenue recognition, commercial rebates, accruals, and intercompany cross-charges.
  • Govern balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, provisioning, and asset management.
  • Lead analysis of actuals vs. plan/forecast, preparation of financial/management reporting packs and provide insights to business leaders.
  • Drive financial governance for key KPIs across the finance function.
  • Provide financial expertise for business decisions, risk assessments, and long-range planning.
  • Supervise regional accounting operations including Cash, Inter-company, GL, payroll interface, and statutory processes.
  • Implement standardized processes, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of regional finance operations with global process owners.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing regional controllership team.
  • Drive capability building, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Tax, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, Supply Chain, HR, and business leaders.
  • Support M&A activities (due diligence, integration, accounting alignment).
  • Represent IMEA controllership in global initiatives and system/process enhancements.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, or regional finance leadership.
  • Experience with multi-country financial operations and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong command of US GAAP, IFRS, and regional statutory standards.
  • Proven track record of managing audits, controls, and close processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in global or matrixed organizations.
  • Prior exposure to IMEA markets and multi-jurisdictional compliance.
  • Hands-on SAP experience, financial automation tools, and advanced analytics.
  • Experience in project management, transformation, or process re-engineering.
  • M&A exposure (technical accounting, due diligence, integration support).
