Deine Aufgaben

Als Junior Type Designer bei Mutabor lernst du, wie Schrift eine Marke trägt. Du arbeitest eng mit unserem Senior Type Designer (Team) zusammen, bringst eigene Ideen ein und wächst Schritt für Schritt in die komplexen Prozesse der Schriftentwicklung hinein. Typografie ist für dich mehr als Formgebung. Du willst verstehen, wie ein Buchstabe eine Haltung transportiert, und das lernst du bei uns im echten Projekt, nicht in der Theorie.

Schriftdesign & Schriftentwicklung

  • Du unterstützt bei der Entwicklung maßgeschneiderter Corporate Typefaces und kompletter Schriftfamilien für unsere Kund:innen.
  • Du übernimmst einzelne Phasen der Schriftentwicklung, zum Beispiel Letterdesign, Spacing oder erste Kerning-Arbeiten, und wirst dabei von erfahrenen Kolleg:innen angeleitet.
  • Du bringst dich in Qualitätschecks ein und lernst, worauf es bei internationalen Marktanforderungen wirklich ankommt.

Typografie-Consulting & Trendscouting

  • Du unterstützt das Corporate-Design-Team bei der Schriftwahl für Branding-Projekte.
  • Du verfolgst aktuelle Hausschriften, neue Releases relevanter Type Foundries und typografische Trends, und teilst deine Beobachtungen im Team.
  • Du hilfst mit, die Qualität der Schriftnutzung über laufende Markenprojekte hinweg im Blick zu behalten.

Schriftlizenzierung & Schriftverwaltung

  • Du lernst die gängigen Schriftlizenzmodelle kennen, von Desktop über Web bis Broadcast, und unterstützt bei der Prüfung von Lizenzfragen.
  • Du begleitest Schrifteinkaufsprozesse und arbeitest dabei eng mit Account Management zusammen.
  • Du hilfst, unsere interne Schriftbibliothek strukturiert und aktuell zu halten.

Deine Qualifikationen

  • Du hast ein Studium im Bereich Kommunikationsdesign, Grafikdesign, visuelle Kommunikation oder Type Design abgeschlossen, oder stehst kurz davor.
  • Erste praktische Erfahrung in Type Design bringst du idealerweise mit, etwa durch Praktika, Werkstudierendenjobs oder eigene Projekte. Eine Agentur oder Foundry im Lebenslauf ist ein Plus, aber absolut kein Muss.
  • Dein Portfolio zeigt, dass du Lust auf Buchstaben hast: eigene Schriftentwürfe, Studienprojekte oder erste Arbeiten im Corporate-Umfeld.
  • Du kennst dich mit Glyphs oder RoboFont aus und willst dich in Font Engineering weiterentwickeln.
  • Begriffe wie Leiterform, Spacing, Kerning, Variable Fonts oder OpenType-Features sind dir kein Fremdwort, auch wenn du noch nicht in allem Profi bist.
  • Interesse an nicht-lateinischen Schriftsystemen ist willkommen.
  • Erste Berührungspunkte mit Schriftlizenzmodellen helfen dir, schnell reinzukommen.
  • Du kannst deine Entscheidungen erklären, auch wenn du noch lernst, sie im Team zu vertreten.
  • Dein Deutsch ist verhandlungssicher, dein Englisch gut in Wort und Schrift.
