The posting
You eliminate repetitive work that no one gains energy from and design connections, automations, and apps that people enjoy using.

At a manufacturing company, an order comes in as a pdf in the email. Someone types it into the ERP and prints a work order. At the end of the week, the hours are manually transferred again. It works, but it takes time every day and errors creep in.
That's where you see what can be done smarter. Sometimes with a connection or flow that works in the background, sometimes with an app that makes the work on the floor easier. With AI, you can build quickly nowadays, but you still need to think about how a solution is structured. You determine how systems should communicate with each other, what controls are necessary, and how to ensure that people can work comfortably with it.
What you will do
You start with the work itself. You observe the order processor, work preparer, or operator. Where is information being retyped, printed, or followed up? Often a customer comes with a specific question and you look at what is needed to solve it properly. Sometimes you see an extra control or a simpler method that can be implemented immediately.
Then you design and build the solution. One of the solutions we have built is, for example, Mail2Make; this automatically reads pdf orders, so fifty clicks and typing becomes one drag. For another client, you build an app that allows operators to report a malfunction directly, or you connect the ERP to the planning so that orders flow automatically. You determine what requirements and controls are needed and test whether everything remains correct when something changes.
With apps, there’s something else to consider: how do you ensure that people can work comfortably with them? An operator in the workshop needs something different than someone in the office. You think about the operation and design, test with users, and see what can be simplified. Not everything needs to be automated and not every idea needs to become an app. The best result is someone who has more time for their own profession again.
Who do you work with?
At Data 2 improve, you work in a small team of curious, down-to-earth people who enjoy figuring things out and building. Everyone brings their own knowledge and interests. You work independently on issues for clients, but also collaborate with colleagues when your knowledge complements each other.
There is plenty of room to try out ideas and take initiative. Do you see a smarter way to tackle something or want to explore a new technique? Then you can get started on that. If you get stuck, there’s always someone to brainstorm with. This way, you learn from each other and also contribute to how we work as a team. On Friday afternoons, we like to wrap up the week together with a drink.
What we are looking for in you
We are looking for someone who sees where recurring manual work can be done smarter and enjoys building something for that. It’s not just about technology. You think logically, are creative when the standard approach doesn’t work, and can empathize well with the people who will use a solution.
We find this important:
From practice You want to understand what is happening with the client and how people work before you come up with a solution. You listen, observe, and ask questions. What the client needs is your starting point; the technology comes afterward.
Critical You don't just assume that automating is the best choice. You explore alternatives and dare to challenge a customer or colleague to look at things differently. You are also critical of what you build yourself, especially when AI helps you with that.
Integrity You do what you say and are honest about what works and what doesn't. You keep your commitments, keep others informed, and take responsibility when things go differently than expected.
Independent You take initiative, tackle issues, and work them out into solutions that function well. You monitor your own progress and quality, think ahead, and know when it is wise to involve a colleague.
Willing to grow You enjoy trying out new techniques and dare to take on work that you have not done before. You are open to feedback, give it as well, and actively seek ways to improve yourself and your work.
For this role, it is important that you speak and write fluent Dutch. You communicate clearly with entrepreneurs, planners, operators, and colleagues.
Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, APIs, integrations, programming, or UX/UI is a plus, but not a requirement. We are mainly curious about how you understand processes, think logically, and design solutions that truly help people.
Do you think it's cool to be both technically and creatively involved and want to grow further in that? Then we would love to meet you.
