The posting
You understand how a factory plans, sets up the planning in axxalon, and ensures it works on the floor.
From 32 hours • Tilburg | at clients | partly from home • fluent Dutch
At a manufacturing company, dozens of orders run through the factory simultaneously, whether they are trailers, machines, or custom metal work. The planner solves the puzzle anew every day, with information spread across the ERP, Excel, and the minds of colleagues. That's where you come in. You put on your work shoes, walk the floor, and sit next to the planner. What happens when an urgent order comes in? And where does it get stuck?
The planning is done by the customer's own planner. You ensure that they can do this with planning software axxalon, set up as the company actually operates. This way, the office and the shop floor look at the same current information. You do this at various manufacturing companies. What you learn at one, you take to the next. This allows you to advise customers on how to get more out of their ERP.
What you will do
You start with the process. How does an order come in, who prepares it, what bill of materials and routing are involved, and when will the material be there? Together with the people who work with it, you map out the information flows. You speak with different departments and also involve those who are still hesitant about a new working method.
Then you set up the digital workshop in axxalon together with the client. You bring together workstations, machines, capacity, working hours, and the steps an order goes through into a workable plan. You ensure that axxalon connects to the ERP, test the setup, and guide the implementation. During the go-live, you help to get the ongoing orders in the right place.
When the planning is running, you are not done. Together with the client, you determine which insights help to adjust, for example about progress, capacity, occupancy, or materials that arrive late. You build those dashboards yourself in Power BI. You observe how planners and operators work with it and what can be improved. You start small, with what the planner really uses on Monday morning, and build from there.
Who do you work with?
At Data 2 improve, you work in a small team of curious, down-to-earth people who enjoy figuring things out and building. Everyone brings their own knowledge and interests. You tackle your first implementations together with a colleague who already knows axxalon. This way, you learn the software and our way of working, while gradually becoming more independent in working with clients.
You are regularly on-site at manufacturing companies, where you collaborate with planners, work preparers, and people on the shop floor. Within the team, you can always brainstorm with colleagues, for example when you encounter a technical issue or want to try a different approach. There is room to develop ideas and contribute to how we approach our projects. On Friday afternoons, we like to wrap up the week together with a drink.
What we are looking for in you
Maybe you are currently working as a planner or work preparer at a manufacturing company and think it would be great to apply your experience at different companies. Or you come from data or technology and want to get to know the manufacturing industry better. Both backgrounds are interesting. We are mainly looking for someone who becomes curious about the puzzle behind a production schedule and fits with how we work as data partners.
We find this important:
From practice You want to understand what is happening with the client and how people work before you come up with a solution. You listen, observe, and ask questions. What the client needs is your starting point, the technique comes afterward.
Critical You do not simply assume that an existing method is the best. You investigate why something is done that way, weigh options, and are willing to contradict a colleague or client if it helps to move forward.
Integrity You do what you say and say what you do. You are honest about what works and what does not, keep your commitments, and let it be known in time when something is going differently.
Independent You take initiative, plan your work, and monitor the progress and quality of your projects. You like to solve problems yourself, but you also know when it is wise to involve a colleague.
Willing to grow You enjoy learning new things and are willing to take on work that you have not done before. You ask for feedback, give it to others, and use what you learn to improve yourself and your work.
For this role, it is important that you speak and write fluent Dutch. You easily switch between entrepreneurs, planners, operators, and colleagues.
Experience with production planning, work preparation, or ERP systems is a big plus. Knowledge of axxalon or Power BI is a nice bonus, but not a requirement. What you already know about working in a manufacturing company can be just as valuable as technical knowledge.
Do you lack experience in a few of these areas, but are you excited about the puzzle behind planning? Then definitely let us know.
