Job description

Company Overview

NACOS Marine is a globally integrated leader in maritime automation, navigation, and control systems. With decades of engineering excellence and a commitment to safe, efficient, and sustainable shipping, we deliver advanced solutions that support some of the world’s most complex vessels. Our teams collaborate across disciplines and regions to shape the future of smart maritime operations.

Role Overview

We are now looking for a motivated and skilled Process Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team. In this role, you will work on the design, development, and commissioning of Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS) for marine applications. You will collaborate closely with engineering, project, and commissioning teams to deliver high-quality automation solutions that meet class requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations. This position offers a dynamic mix of engineering design, software development, and hands-on commissioning work onboard vessels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to basic and detailed design across both software and hardware
  • Develop application software and reusable templates for FGSS automation
  • Create and maintain project-specific documentation, including control philosophy, logic descriptions, and test procedures
  • Communicate technical topics with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support project management with progress reporting and engineering status updates
  • Perform onboard commissioning of FGSS systems, including loop checks, tuning, and system validation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues during commissioning and on vessels in operation

Key Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Engineering (Automation, Cybernetics, Process Control, or related field)
  • Strong understanding of P&ID, SCD, and process control sequences
  • Deep knowledge of process control loops, tuning, dynamic behaviour, and commissioning practice
  • Experience with dynamic simulation tools (e.g., HYSYS) is preferred
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols: Modbus, Profinet, Profibus
  • Hands-on experience with process loop calibration and commissioning
  • Knowledge of automation hardware for ATEX zones and IS loops
  • Strong programming skills (role is 70–80% software-oriented)
  • Background in Oil & Gas or LNG systems and understanding of gas standards and regulations
  • Familiarity with class regulations (DNV, BV, etc.) and approval processes
  • Knowledge of Gas Safety Systems, Safety PLCs, and Fire & Gas Systems
  • Strong team spirit, proactive mindset, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Why choose us and why we’d choose you?

At NACOS, we empower people to take ownership, embrace responsibility, and shape their own path. Innovation thrives here through collaboration, curiosity, and the drive to create meaningful impact. We value openness, authenticity, and a learning mindset and we believe that great results come from teams where every individual feels trusted and supported.

You’ll join a dynamic environment where smart technologies meet strong teamwork, and where your expertise contributes directly to safer and more sustainable maritime operations. If this sounds like your next step, we’d be excited to receive your application.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
