Job description

Company Overview NACOS Marine is a globally integrated group of companies at the forefront of maritime automation, navigation, and control systems. With decades of experience, we deliver innovative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and performance across the global maritime industry. Our systems are trusted by shipowners, operators, and yards worldwide and supported by dedicated service professionals across the globe.

Role Overview We are looking for a technically skilled and self-driven Service Engineer (m/f/d) to join our field service team in Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for providing on-site technical support for marine automation systems, including repair, installation, troubleshooting, and system upgrades. You will work independently onboard vessels at terminals, anchorages, and shipyards, while supporting our coordination team and ensuring compliance with NACOS Marine's quality and safety standards.

This is a hands-on position for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, has solid electrical and automation experience, and is comfortable working in multicultural, shipboard settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend vessels at terminal, anchorage, or shipyard locations for repair, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning tasks
  • Perform fault diagnosis and resolve reported technical issues in a systematic and timely manner
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting in accordance with company procedures (e.g., software/database updates, service reports)
  • Submit accurate technical and service work reports within required deadlines
  • Provide technical support to the service coordination team for job planning and follow-up
  • Execute work in full compliance with NACOS’s Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety (QEHS) guidelines and customer procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager

Key Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in marine automation, electrical, or control systems
  • Solid understanding of automation processes and PLC systems (e.g. WAGO, Siemens, Mitsubishi)
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, CAN Bus) and network components (e.g. Moxa switches)
  • Experience with automation hardware/software, alarm monitoring systems, and ideally engine governor or maneuvering systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general PC tools, good communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical approach
  • Self-motivated, independent, and able to work in shipyard or onboard environments
  • Comfortable working with diverse cultures and willing to travel internationally if required

Why choose us and why we’d choose you? At NACOS, we foster a culture of ownership, integrity, and continuous growth. We offer a collaborative and inclusive working environment where your contributions are valued and your skills can thrive. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on modern marine technologies, support global clients, and develop your technical expertise in a fast-evolving industry.

If you’re passionate about marine systems, hands-on service, and delivering reliable technical solutions, we want to hear from you. Apply today and take your next step in the maritime world with NACOS Marine.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
