Job description

Company Overview NACOS Marine delivers advanced navigation, automation, and control systems for vessels worldwide. Our integrated solutions help ship owners and operators improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability at sea. With proven reliability, innovative technology, and dedicated support, we enable smarter maritime operations. Let’s shape the future of maritime technology together.

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer (m/f/d) specialized in automation systems to join our field service team. In this role, you will deliver field service activities on board cruise and merchant vessels, ensuring that work is completed on time, to the agreed quality standard, and within budget. You will carry out troubleshooting, repairs, installation, and commissioning work, and act as a direct technical point of contact for customers during execution. You will work closely with our technical office, service colleagues, and Project Management to meet both delivery and customer satisfaction goals. The role involves frequent international travel to customer vessels and shipyards, approximately 60% of working time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field service activities according to the agreed work plan
  • Carry out troubleshooting on equipment families, including testing, fine tuning, and adjustments
  • Perform complex repairs and complete overhauls independently where required
  • Carry out installation and pre-commissioning checks and activities
  • Perform commissioning activities and hand equipment over to the customer and/or shipyard
  • Lead and coordinate an assigned team during work execution where required
  • Interact professionally with customers throughout the execution of the work
  • Report internal and external progress status on assigned work
  • Prepare accurate service reports on completed work
  • Ensure all work is executed in line with NACOS Marine quality, health, safety, and environmental guidelines, as well as customer site procedures
  • Advise customers on available products and solutions

Key Requirements

  • Technical qualification in Electronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ service or commissioning experience on board cruise and merchant vessels
  • Good understanding of marine automation systems
  • Knowledge of basic naval instrumentation
  • Hands-on experience with XD/DNA and Platinum equipment systems is an advantage
  • Experience leading service teams or coordinating work on site is an advantage
  • Experience working to classification society or shipyard procedures is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently on site and make sound technical decisions under pressure
  • Strong customer focus, with clear and professional written and verbal communication
  • Team player, able to coordinate with colleagues, shipyards, and customers
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken; Italian is an advantage
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally approximately 60% of working time

Why choose us and why we’d choose you? At NACOS Marine, you’ll become part of a global organization delivering innovative maritime technology solutions to customers around the world. You’ll work hands-on with complex automation systems aboard cruise and merchant vessels, supported by experienced service, engineering, and project colleagues. We value safety, ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in solving technical problems properly, communicates openly with customers and colleagues, and wants to keep building their expertise in marine automation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
