The posting

Reports to: Creative Lead Location: Remote (U.S.); West Coast preferred or PST hours required.

About the Role

NETGEAR (Consumer division) is building an in-house creative team to own digital design work end to end. The team is small on purpose: a Creative Lead, a UI Designer, a Graphic Designer, and a copywriter.

This is the digital design seat, focused on the direct-to-consumer side of netgear.com http://netgear.com. It is a transactional storefront, so the work carries real conversion pressure. You will design and ship interface work for web, working inside an established atomic design system rather than starting from a blank canvas each time.

Our team owns the web UI system. You will be the person working in it day to day: building with it, extending it, and keeping it coherent as the site grows.

You will have access to website analytics and performance data, and you will work alongside our Lead of Consumer Insights, whose findings should feed directly into design decisions. Your job is to take what all of that tells us and make it show up in the interface.

Working inside an established system does not mean only assembling from what already exists. We expect you to spot where the system falls short of what a page actually needs, and to design new components that fit the existing logic rather than working around it.

Our app is owned by a separate product team. You will not design app screens, but you will work with them to keep web and app visually consistent.

What you will do

- Design and ship UI across the consumer side of netgear.com http://netgear.com, from wireframe through to developer-ready handoff. The work spans campaign and product landing pages, category and listing pages, product detail pages, media and content pages, and the interface for our product finder tools.

- Work in our atomic web design system: build with existing components, extend it where the system does not yet cover what a page needs, and keep new work consistent with what is already there.

- Maintain our web Figma libraries, keeping components, variants, and tokens clean, documented, and usable by everyone touching the files.

- Work with the front-end team who build and own the website itself: hand off designs in a state they can implement, check feasibility before committing to an approach, and review designs in staging before they go live.

- Use website analytics and consumer insights research as inputs to design decisions.

- Design new web components and suggest design improvements to our pages.

- Collaborate with the Graphic Designer so that campaign work and site experience feel like the same brand.

- Work closely with our Sr. Integrated Marketing Manager, who is responsible for global campaigns, so that site work lines up with what campaigns are driving.

- Use AI tools as part of your workflow where they genuinely speed things up.

- Give occasional design direction to other teams who maintain their own pages and want them to stay consistent with netgear.com http://netgear.com. Advisory, not production.

- Work with the app team, who own the app UI system, to keep styles, icons, colours, and typography consistent across web and app.

What we are looking for

- 4+ years designing digital products or marketing interfaces. Direct-to-consumer ecommerce or consumer tech experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

- Deep Figma skills, specifically with libraries: components, variants, auto layout, and tokens. You should be comfortable working inside an established system and maintaining its structure and documentation as you go.

- Genuine interest in AI and a habit of testing new tools as they appear. We want someone who follows how AI is developing in design, particularly the AI capabilities landing in Figma, tries them properly rather than reading about them, and brings back what actually works.

- A portfolio of shipped web work, with enough detail that we can see your reasoning and not just the final screens.

- Current on UI patterns and conventions, with judgment about which trends are worth adopting and which are noise.

- Able to ground design decisions in research and analytics, and to explain the reasoning behind them.

- Comfortable presenting your own work. You will walk stakeholders through your designs yourself, explain the thinking behind them, and handle questions and pushback in the room rather than routing everything through the Creative Lead.

- A working understanding of front-end implementation and a skill to design system components that a back-end team can develop.

- A positive, curious attitude and a real appetite for learning. We support training on new tools, AI in particular.

- Clear communication with engineers, product, and stakeholders who are not designers.

Nice to have

- Prototyping and interaction design skills.

- Familiarity with accessibility standards and how they constrain component design.

How we work

Fully remote, PST hours. The team works from a shared project board in monday.com http://monday.com and in short review cycles rather than long agency-style handoffs. You will have direct access to the Creative Lead and to partner teams, and you are expected to use it.

Tooling is provided, including Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and a Magnific seat, so you are not funding your own AI tools. We support training on new tools, particularly AI.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
