Summary Lead platform engineering strategy and oversee DevOps/SRE at a top bank, driving automation, team leadership, and innovation. This senior position shapes technology direction, fosters a strong engineering culture, accelerates developer experience, and ensures scalability and reliability in platform services.

Core Responsibilities

  • Direct the Internal Developer Platform strategy and product roadmap, ensuring self-service, standardized CI/CD, and clear documentation for engineers.
  • Automate the development lifecycle to reduce manual work and increase efficiency across all teams.
  • Manage, mentor, and expand DevOps/SRE teams, emphasizing ownership and a strong automation focus.
  • Oversee hiring, succession planning, and performance management to grow engineering leadership.
  • Enable platform adoption through training and knowledge-sharing, not central control.
  • Report platform performance, risk, and budget to senior leadership, aligning with business needs.
  • Champion adoption of AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) for workflow and CI/CD optimization.
  • Set and drive engineering performance targets and SDLC improvements (lead time, change failures, etc.).
  • Define robust, scalable CI/CD architecture and enforce automated quality/testing/security gates.
  • Standardize Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code for environment consistency.
  • Lead observability, monitoring, SLO/SLA metrics, alerting, and establish automation for issue remediation.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering, with 5+ in leadership over multiple teams or leads.
  • Proven ability to define and realize engineering/infrastructure strategy at large scale.
  • Extensive experience building and operating scalable distributed systems with architectural influence.
  • Led the creation and rollout of internal developer/self-service platforms.
  • Expert in CI/CD, automation, and managing large-scale infrastructure.
  • Experience introducing AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) to engineering teams.
  • Track record of improving SDLC metrics: lead times, deployment frequency, MTTR.
  • Strong Kubernetes/container background.
  • Hands-on with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
