You will support the development, integration, and sustainment of mission-critical planning systems that enable next-generation Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) capabilities. In this role, you will help define and maintain mission planning architectures, requirements, interfaces, and scheduling capabilities that support secure and resilient satellite communications operations for the United States Space Force.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading-edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) support to the Space Force's Space Systems Command. We support acquisition of advanced satellite communications systems that provide secure, survivable, and protected communications capabilities for warfighters worldwide. We seek technically strong systems engineers who thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy solving challenging integration problems across complex space and ground systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain requirements for mission planning systems supporting MILSATCOM resource allocation, access scheduling, and payload configuration
  • Support engineering efforts for mission planning tools supporting satellite access planning, terminal-to-satellite resource assignment, and bandwidth allocation
  • Analyze and model satellite coverage, communications resource availability, and mission planning conflicts across MILSATCOM constellations
  • Support development and refinement of scheduling, deconfliction, and automation algorithms
  • Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) between mission planning systems, satellite control networks, and terminal systems
  • Support integration of mission planning software with command and control (C2) and telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) systems
  • Perform trade studies evaluating mission planning architectures, automation approaches, and system performance
  • Support Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for mission planning software and algorithm updates
  • Evaluate mission planning risks and support mitigation planning efforts
  • Support technical reviews including SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, and TRRs
  • Coordinate with RF engineers, satellite operations personnel, and flight dynamics teams
  • Support cybersecurity compliance activities including RMF and ATO-related documentation
  • Prepare technical briefings, reports, and supporting documentation for government stakeholders
  • Collaborate with government civilians, contractors, and members of the U.S. Space Force

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of systems engineering experience
  • 5+ years of experience supporting mission planning, satellite resource allocation, scheduling systems, or related engineering disciplines
  • Strong understanding of satellite communications concepts including link budgets, bandwidth allocation, and terminal access planning
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple customers, stakeholders, and technical organizations
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
