Wil jij bouwen aan een stabiel, veilig en toekomstbestendig platform waar developers elke dag op kunnen vertrouwen? Binnen ons Retail Service Team zoeken we een Medior/Senior Cloud / Infra Engineer die ervaring heeft met AWS en Kubernetes, interesse heeft in networking en security en energie krijgt van samenwerken met zowel infra‑ als applicatieve teams.

Dit betreft een freelance opdracht voor 40 uur per week .Je werkt hybride (Arnhem / thuis) en krijgt veel ruimte om je technische vaardigheden te verdiepen én actief bij te dragen aan verbeteringen van ons platform.

Wat je gaat doen

Als medior/senior Cloud / Infra Engineer werk je op het snijvlak van operations en platformontwikkeling. Je bent betrokken bij dagelijkse operatie, maar kijkt ook vooruit: hoe maken we onze infrastructuur slimmer, stabieler en beter te beheren? De dagelijkse operatie kent vele aandachtsgebieden. Je werkt samen met ervaren collega’s en groeit stap voor stap richting meer zelfstandigheid en verantwoordelijkheid.Dit doe je onder andere door:

  • Het analyseren en oplossen van incidenten die binnenkomen vanuit een brede IT-scope, variërend van infrastructuur, platformen, middleware tot applicaties, inclusief troubleshooting, root-cause analyses en het doorvoeren van structurele verbeteringen
  • Mee te draaien in standby/on‑call diensten
  • Het deployen van applicaties en configureren van ons Kubernetes‑platform
  • Security en compliance standaard mee te nemen in je werk, met aandacht voor hardening, least‑privilege access, logging en het opvolgen van bekende kwetsbaarheden
  • Het operationeel ondersteunen van databases en datadiensten samen met de verantwoordelijke teams, met focus op beschikbaarheid, back‑ups en performance
  • Het toepassen van automatisering waar mogelijk, bijvoorbeeld met Infrastructure as Code en CI/CD‑pijplijnen voor infrastructuur, en het documenteren van runbooks
  • Afstemming met applicatieve teams over changes, releases en platformverbeteringen, en meedenken over een betere developer experience

Wat je meebrengt

Je bent nieuwsgierig, pakt ownership op operationele kwaliteit en vindt het leuk om samen te werken met developers. Je leert graag bij, maar neemt ook de tijd om kennis over te dragen (bijv. door goede documentatie, demos of pair troubleshooting).

Verder herken je jezelf in (een groot deel van) het volgende:

  • Hbo‑werk‑ en denkniveau of aantoonbaar vergelijkbare ervaring
  • Praktische ervaring met AWS; ervaring met Azure is een pre
  • Ervaring met Kubernetes en containerisatie (Docker) in een productieomgeving
  • Kennis van networking (WAF, DNS, routing, load balancing, TLS) en security-principes (least privilege, secrets, patching)
  • Affiniteit met databases en reliability (back-ups, restore, performance, monitoring)
  • Je kunt gestructureerd troubleshooten en blijft rustig tijdens incidenten; je communiceert duidelijk over voortgang en impact
  • Ervaring met scripting en/of automatisering (bijv. Bash, Python, Terraform) is een pre
  • Je werkt graag samen en zoekt actief afstemming met collega’s en applicatieve teams

Met wie je werkt

Je maakt deel uit van het Retail Service Team: een groep van enthousiaste IT’ers die het Retail-platform ontwikkelt en beheert. Binnen het team werken we nauw samen op AWS-infra, Kubernetes en operatie, en stemmen we dagelijks af met de applicatieve scrumteams. We helpen elkaar actief, delen kennis en verbeteren continu onze dienstverlening van incidentafhandeling tot structurele platformverbeteringen.

We werken volgens de NN Way of Working (WoW), gebaseerd op Agile/Scrum-principes. Dit betekent dat je samenwerkt in multidisciplinaire teams, deelneemt aan refinement, sprint planning, reviews en retrospectives, en actief bijdraagt aan continue verbetering van zowel het platform als de manier van werken.
