Why This Is a Great Opportunity

  • Join a highly focused construction law practice where your experience will be valued from day one and you can work on meaningful matters for clients throughout the construction industry.
  • Handle sophisticated construction disputes, contracts, claims, risk management matters, and related legal issues while building trusted client relationships.
  • Enjoy a highly attractive 1,500 billable hour requirement that supports strong performance without the extreme billing expectations common at many firms.
  • Participate in a lucrative associate bonus program that rewards your contributions and performance.
  • Receive health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan matching, paid time off, and CLE reimbursement.
  • Work alongside attorneys who understand the construction industry and take a practical, business-minded approach to solving client problems.
  • Build toward additional workplace flexibility, with potential hybrid or remote arrangements after successfully integrating with our team.

Location

This opportunity may be based in either Evansville, Indiana or Louisville, Kentucky. The role is initially office-based so you can become fully immersed in our clients, team, and approach. Experienced attorneys may become eligible for hybrid or remote flexibility after the initial ramp-up period, subject to managing partner approval.

Note

Candidates must have 4+ years of attorney experience specifically involving construction law and must hold an active bar license in the state where they will practice. Louisville candidates must be licensed in Kentucky, and Evansville candidates must be licensed in Indiana.

About Us

We are a construction-focused law practice dedicated to helping contractors, owners, developers, and other industry participants navigate complex legal and business challenges. Our team combines strong legal knowledge with a practical understanding of construction matters to provide thoughtful, cost-effective solutions. Confidential Employer.

Job Description

  • Represent clients in a broad range of construction law matters, including disputes, claims, contracts, and related litigation.
  • Counsel construction industry clients on legal risks, contractual obligations, and practical strategies for resolving issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts and other project-related agreements.
  • Manage matters from initial strategy through resolution while maintaining strong communication with clients.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to identify issues early and develop efficient, business-minded solutions.
  • Participate in negotiations, mediations, hearings, litigation, and other dispute resolution proceedings as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of construction law attorney experience.
  • Active Kentucky bar license for the Louisville office or active Indiana bar license for the Evansville office.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, claims, disputes, litigation, or closely related construction matters.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and client communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage matters while collaborating effectively with colleagues and clients.

Why You Will Love Working Here

You will join a team where construction law is a core focus rather than a small part of a broader practice. We offer meaningful client work, significant professional responsibility, an achievable 1,500 billable hour requirement, a strong associate bonus program, comprehensive benefits, CLE support, retirement matching, and the opportunity to earn greater workplace flexibility as you become established with the team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
