Location: Syracuse, NY | Hybrid. Join our Syracuse office in a flexible, collaborative hybrid arrangement. New attorneys generally spend four days per week onsite initially, with the possibility of transitioning toward three days in the office.

Note: Applicants must be admitted to the New York State Bar and have substantial complex civil litigation or insurance defense experience, including relevant exposure to New York Labor Law, construction defect litigation, and employment practices liability matters.

Job Description

  • Lead complex insurance defense and civil litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution.
  • Handle New York Labor Law claims, including construction accident and workplace injury litigation.
  • Defend construction defect, general liability, and employment practices liability claims.
  • Develop litigation strategies, manage discovery, conduct depositions, and argue significant motions.
  • Represent clients in mediations, settlement negotiations, court proceedings, and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with and mentor junior attorneys while strengthening client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Active New York State Bar admission in good standing.
  • 5+ years of substantial civil litigation or insurance defense experience.
  • Experience handling complex New York Labor Law and construction-related claims.
  • Experience with employment practices liability or employment-related defense litigation.
  • Ability to manage sophisticated cases independently.
  • Strong deposition, motion practice, negotiation, and litigation strategy skills.
  • Existing book of business preferred but not required.
