General Painter
Location: Parkway Family Auto Group – Tomball, TX Job Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Job Summary
Parkway Family Auto Group is seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented General Painter to perform interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, and finishing work throughout our dealership facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining the professional appearance of our buildings through high-quality painting, drywall repairs, and refinishing projects.
The ideal candidate has experience in commercial or residential painting, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can independently manage projects from preparation through completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare interior and exterior surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming.
- Perform professional painting of walls, ceilings, doors, trim, offices, service areas, and other building surfaces.
- Apply paints, stains, sealers, varnishes, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Perform drywall repairs, including patching holes, repairing cracks, applying joint compound, sanding, and matching existing wall textures.
- Mix and match paint colors to ensure consistency with existing finishes and facility standards.
- Protect flooring, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and surrounding areas during painting projects.
- Remove and reinstall hardware, fixtures, and coverings as necessary to complete assigned work.
- Identify surface damage, moisture concerns, or other conditions that may affect painting quality and report necessary repairs.
- Maintain painting tools, spray equipment, ladders, and materials in proper working condition.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe throughout each project.
- Follow company safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment.
- Coordinate painting projects to minimize disruptions to dealership operations and customer areas.
- Complete assigned projects efficiently while maintaining high standards for appearance and workmanship.
- Assist with other painting-related facility improvement projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Previous professional painting experience required; commercial building painting experience preferred.
- Experience with interior and exterior painting, drywall repair, surface preparation, and finishing techniques.
- Knowledge of paint products, primers, coatings, and proper application methods.
- Ability to operate brushes, rollers, spray equipment, sanders, and other painting tools.
- Experience matching existing wall textures and paint finishes preferred.
- Ability to safely work from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding when properly trained and authorized.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional attitude in an active dealership environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license REQUIRED.
Ability to Commute/Relocate
- Tomball, TX: Must be able to reliably commute to the dealership.
- Must be willing to travel between company facilities as needed.
