SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mobile Auto Technician/Mobile Mechanic. The successful candidate will provide basic automotive repair and maintenance services directly at our customers' locations, ensuring a seamless and convenient experience. This role requires basic diagnostic skills and a customer-centric approach to service.
What you’ll do
Mobile service and repair
- Travel to scheduled appointments at customer homes, workplaces, and fleet locations.
- Perform authorized maintenance, inspections, and eligible repairs within your training and the van’s capabilities.
- Complete eligible recall or service campaign work after required training and authorization.
- Follow manufacturer procedures and verify completed work.
- Recognize conditions that require additional diagnosis, specialized equipment, or an in-shop appointment and communicate them promptly.
Customer care
- Arrive prepared, introduce yourself professionally, and explain the scheduled service.
- Respect the customer’s property and maintain a clean work area.
- Communicate findings clearly and coordinate approval before performing additional work.
- Explain completed services and next steps.
- Notify the scheduling team of delays or changes that affect appointments.
Van, tools, and route readiness
- Review appointments, service requirements, parts, and supplies before departure.
- Check that the van and equipment are ready for safe operation.
- Keep tools, parts, supplies, and customer documents organized and secure.
- Coordinate replenishment and report equipment or vehicle issues.
- Follow assigned routes and communicate when scheduling changes are needed.
Documentation and quality
- Accurately record work performed, inspection findings, parts used, labor time, and mileage.
- Complete required digital repair orders, photos, and supporting documentation.
- Follow safety procedures for roadside and customer-site work, fluid handling, and waste disposal.
- Evaluate each work location and stop or relocate work when conditions are unsafe.
- Take responsibility for workmanship and communicate concerns promptly.
Who should apply
- Automotive technicians interested in mobile service.
- HVAC, plumbing, appliance repair, equipment-service, or other field-service professionals with transferable mechanical skills.
- Candidates comfortable working independently and interacting directly with customers.
Qualifications
- Hands-on mechanical or technical experience and the ability to follow service instructions.
- Strong customer-service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot methodically and recognize when assistance is needed.
- Comfort using mobile devices, digital work orders, and service information.
- Dependability and sound judgment while working away from the dealership.
- A valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
- Willingness to complete required automotive and manufacturer training.
- Factory training and automotive certifications preferred, but not required.
