Facilities Operations Senior Manager

Location: National Capital Region Work Arrangement: Onsite Schedule: Monday to Friday

Job Summary

The Facilities Operations Senior Manager will lead the organization's multi-site facilities and engineering operations, ensuring that all sites remain safe, functional, compliant, and operationally efficient.

The role will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, facilities performance, engineering systems, vendor and contractor management, maintenance planning, and cost control across multiple locations. The position will also drive the effective use of maintenance management systems and data-driven performance monitoring to improve facility reliability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee multi-site facilities and engineering operations, ensuring the reliability, safety, and functionality of facilities and equipment.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance programs for facilities, equipment, utilities, and critical systems.
  • Establish maintenance standards, schedules, procedures, and service levels across all sites.
  • Monitor facility performance, equipment uptime, maintenance requirements, and recurring operational issues.
  • Lead the implementation and utilization of CMMS or similar maintenance management systems to improve work order management, preventive maintenance, asset tracking, and reporting.
  • Manage external vendors, contractors, service providers, and technical partners, ensuring quality, compliance, service levels, and timely completion of work.
  • Negotiate and manage service contracts while identifying opportunities to optimize maintenance costs and operational spending.
  • Develop and monitor facilities budgets, maintenance expenditures, and capital requirements.
  • Establish and track key Facilities and Maintenance KPIs, including equipment uptime, preventive maintenance completion, response time, work order closure, recurring issues, and maintenance costs.
  • Ensure facilities and engineering activities comply with applicable safety, regulatory, environmental, and building requirements.
  • Conduct regular site assessments and identify facility risks, maintenance gaps, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Lead the resolution of urgent and critical facility issues, coordinating with internal teams and external service providers to minimize operational disruption.
  • Develop contingency and escalation procedures for critical facility and equipment concerns.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Procurement, and other stakeholders to align facilities requirements with business and operational priorities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to facilities efficiency, asset reliability, maintenance processes, and cost management.
  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, and performance management to the facilities and engineering team.
  • Maintain an on-call and responsive approach to critical facility concerns and urgent operational requirements.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Engineering, Facilities Management, Facilities Operations, Maintenance Management, or a related field.
  • Strong experience managing multi-site facilities operations, preferably within restaurant, hospitality, food & beverage, retail, FMCG, or other fast-paced environments.
  • Proven expertise in preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Experience managing facilities, engineering systems, equipment, utilities, and maintenance operations across multiple locations.
  • Strong background in vendor and contractor management, including contract and service-level management.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance cost control, budgeting, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience implementing or managing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or similar maintenance platforms.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach to monitoring maintenance KPIs, equipment uptime, facility performance, and costs.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to urgent facility and engineering issues, including on-call requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Preferred Educational Background

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.

Professional engineering or facilities-related certifications are an advantage.
