The posting

At Polaris Inc., we have fun doing what we love by driving change and innovation. We empower employees to take on challenging assignments and roles with an elevated level of responsibility in our agile working environment. Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to THINK OUTSIDE.

Position Overview:

The Service Engineer supports the development and execution of service strategies for the Polaris ORV Crossover and ATV product lines. Partnering with the relevant Strategic Business Unit, Engineering, and Central Service teams, you will help align service readiness and support with business, dealership, and customer needs. This role applies an engineering background to improve product serviceability, connect Service and Engineering, and lead field campaigns for the assigned product lines. You will have meaningful ownership of service strategy, product-development input, and field-quality execution across a broad cross-functional network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead service strategy, readiness, and support for assigned product lines, aligning non-technical service strategies with Strategic Business Unit priorities.

• Represent Service on product development programs and product-line team meetings, providing requirements and recommendations for serviceability, simplification, and maintainability.

• Partner with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to eliminate service issues during design and lead action plans for new and existing product concerns.

• Lead field campaign execution, including all project-management aspects of the Bulletin Field Execution Process and cost-effective plans for resolving field issues.

• Support the global Technical Service team in identifying and resolving dealer challenges, while serving as a peer leader and mentor to team members.

• Maintain cross-functional communication on product issues with Technical Service, Warranty, Customer Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Legal, and Quality.

• Assess parts-supply risks and field-quality impacts, and drive resolution with cross-functional teams.

• Provide strategic and technical content input for owner, service, and parts manuals, dealer training materials, and other product technical resources.

• Lead development of special service tools and help ensure Polaris Digital Wrench diagnostic software supports new and existing products.

• Represent Service in Post Sales Surveillance activities, assist with escalated dealer and customer inquiries, and maintain current knowledge of Polaris products, dealership operations, diagnostic technologies, and relevant engineering processes.

• Identify and lead continuous-improvement and standardization projects and processes.

Desired Competencies:

• Collaboration: You work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives.

• Technical / Functional Expertise: You apply the required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise.

• Problem Solving: You identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.

• Three or more years of related engineering experience.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical experience, especially with snowmobile powertrains and systems.

• Significant, proven project-management experience across stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

• Strong ability to build networks and relationships and influence decisions at all leadership levels.

• Excellent analytical, data interpretation, and problem-solving skills, with strong drive and initiative to identify and address issues.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data presentation, with an interest in adopting new technology.

• Working knowledge of dealership retail service operations.

• Manufacturing-environment experience and in-depth knowledge of the snowmobile industry and products are preferred.

• Ability to work in a general office environment across Twin Cities offices, interact significantly with dealers and customers, and manage a heavy workload during field campaign activities.

• Travel up to 10%, as required.

• This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
