We have a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Tax Accountant to join our Accounting team.

As a Tax Accountant, you will prepare and review sales tax, VAT, GST/HST, and other indirect tax filings, maintain supporting schedules and documentation, assist with financial reporting and transfer pricing activities, and help the business manage tax requirements arising from growth, operations, and cross-border activity.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive candidate who can support global indirect tax compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and process improvement across multiple jurisdictions

In this role, you will:

Tax Compliance and Reporting

  • Prepare, review, and file sales tax, VAT, GST/HST, and other indirect tax returns accurately and on time across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Monitor registration, nexus or establishment, taxability, exemption, marketplace, invoicing, and filing requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Reconcile indirect taxes collected or recoverable to general ledger balances and returns, investigate variances, and prepare related journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare and compile financial data, tax schedules, reconciliations, and supporting information required for corporate income tax filings across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including global indirect tax accruals and reconciliations, in accordance with IFRS and corporate policies.
  • Assist with estimates of current and deferred tax exposures for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting purposes.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for indirect tax filings, registrations, exemption certificates, reconciliations, audits, and notices across applicable jurisdictions.

Tax Planning and Strategy

  • Support tax planning initiatives and research opportunities to improve the company’s tax position while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist with tax analysis for new business initiatives, cross-border transactions, restructuring, and other projects.
  • Monitor changes in global sales tax, VAT, GST/HST, and other indirect tax laws, including registration thresholds, product and service taxability, invoicing, and filing requirements.
  • Research and support applications for applicable tax credits, incentives, and government subsidy programs.
  • Identify potential tax risks, exposures, and process gaps, and escalate findings with practical recommendations.
  • Conduct ad hoc tax research and clearly document conclusions on evolving rules, regulations, and business requirements.

Transfer Pricing

  • Assist with maintaining intercompany transfer pricing policies and documentation in line with OECD guidelines and local requirements.
  • Reconcile and monitor intercompany transactions for consistency with established transfer pricing policies.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for intercompany transactions and transfer pricing files.
  • Support reviews of intercompany agreements for alignment with transfer pricing policies and applicable requirements.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Correspond with tax authorities across applicable jurisdictions regarding registrations, notices, audits, assessments, and account maintenance, and track matters through resolution.
  • Work closely with external tax advisors to support global indirect tax, corporate tax, and other required filings.
  • Partner with Accounting, Legal, Sales, Billing, and other stakeholders to gather data and apply indirect tax requirements accurately to customer transactions.
  • Communicate effectively with external auditors and internal stakeholders on direct tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing matters.
  • Translate tax requirements into clear, practical guidance and document procedures for business partners.

Process Improvement and Controls

  • Evaluate and improve tax processes, controls, and documentation, with particular attention to global indirect tax data integrity, filing accuracy, and audit readiness.
  • Streamline and automate the extraction of transaction data required for indirect tax analysis, return preparation, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Support implementation and use of tax technology solutions, including global indirect tax engines and compliance platforms, to improve reporting quality and reduce manual effort.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities consistent with the position, as assigned by the direct manager.

You are a great fit if you have:

  • 3+ years of tax or accounting experience, including indirect tax compliance exposure in a multinational or multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or a related field; a professional accounting designation or progress toward one is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of global indirect tax concepts, including sales tax, VAT, GST/HST, registrations, taxability, exemptions, invoicing, return preparation, and audit support.
  • Experience preparing indirect tax returns and reconciliations across multiple jurisdictions; exposure to corporate tax, withholding tax, or transfer pricing is an asset.
  • Familiarity with IFRS, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring filing deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities.
  • Experience with US sales and use tax, global indirect tax engines, tax compliance software, ERP systems, process improvement, automation, or data analysis tools is an asset.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
