The posting

Company Description

In 2008, Qantas Freight Enterprises bought Jets Transport. Today we operate as a wholly owned but independently managed business. With unbeatable reliability, security and attention to detail, it’s no surprise we’re Australia’s road feeder of choice.

At Jets Transport we see expectations as a challenge and push forward knowing we’ve got back-up. High expectations are welcomed, and we’re always aiming for excellence.

Job Description

  • Challenge yourself to see the possibilities
  • Together we’ll come together as one team to build a high-performance culture
  • Casual opportunities available, based at the Melbourne Airport Freight Terminal

When international air cargo touches down in Australia, we’re there to get it the rest of the way to its destination. Our interstate trucking services cover the domestic legs of international airfreight operations, driving between all the major cities from our hubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Coolangatta, Perth and Adelaide.

In 2008, Qantas Freight Enterprises bought Jets Transport. Today we operate as a wholly owned but independently managed business. With unbeatable reliability, security and attention to detail, it’s no surprise we’re Australia’s road feeder of choice. We understand our priorities and what needs to be delivered, taking the initiative to keep things moving. We bring teams and individuals together to deliver on our customers’ expectations.

As a Long Distance Driver, based at Melbourne Airport, you’ll operate heavy vehicles across our interstate network, with a strong focus on safety, compliance and the secure transportation of freight. The role operates across a 7-day rotating roster and requires flexibility to work night shifts and travel interstate as operationally required.

You’ll be responsible for conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, ensuring equipment is roadworthy and compliant with company and regulatory requirements. A key part of the role is ensuring loads are correctly restrained and secured in accordance with the National Load Restraint Guide and company procedures.

You’ll also safely split, couple and reposition trailers at depots and customer sites to support operational requirements. This includes operating curtains and handling straps, ratchets, gates and other load-restraint equipment as part of loading and unloading activities.

If you’re an experienced MC Long Distance or Linehaul Driver looking to bring your skills to a safety-focused operation, this could be the opportunity for you.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • A current MC driver’s licence
  • Demonstrated experience as a Long Distance or Linehaul Driver
  • The ability to conduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • A sound understanding of load-restraint principles and safe freight-handling practices
  • The ability to safely split and couple trailers and manage multi-trailer combinations
  • The physical capability to operate curtains, straps, ratchets and associated load-restraint equipment
  • A strong commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including night shifts
  • Willingness to travel interstate and work across various depot locations as required
  • A clean driving record
  • Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
