In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Managing and executing company-wide compliance programs covering CASL, CRTC UTRs, AML/FINTRAC requirements, and website digital compliance across all web and mobile platforms

Leading initiatives to automate AML/FINTRAC identity verification, KYC checks, and transaction monitoring, working cross-functionally with Operations, Product, Technology, and Engineering teams

Conducting systematic audits of customer-facing website user journeys, lead-capture forms, disclaimers, terms of service, and automated marketing flows

Establishing and managing Existing Business Relationship (EBR) verification and National Do Not Call List (DNCL) access controls within CRM and marketing systems

Maintaining, reviewing, and updating compliance policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and tiered disciplinary frameworks, and escalating material non-compliance or red-flag risks to executive leadership

Assisting with the triage, investigation, and resolution of consumer and regulatory complaints (CRTC, RECO, RECA, BCFSA, FSRA, Privacy), maintaining audit-ready records

Designing and delivering compliance training and awareness modules for independent contractor agents, brokerages, and mortgage representatives across Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and other provinces, and tracking adherence

Managing reporting inputs for senior management, affiliate Compliance Committees, and regulatory authorities

Monitoring legal and regulatory changes to assess operational impacts and recommend necessary adjustments

Reviewing consumer data storage protocols and third-party API data sharing, such as lead routing to partner brokerages, to guarantee legal consent compliance

Auditing and maintaining Zolo's public-facing Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

Managing and maintaining the master register of all regulated entities, provincial brokerage licences, and statutory roles, including Brokers of Record, Managing Brokers, Alternate/Secondary Brokers of Record, Branch Managers, and Principal Mortgage Brokers across Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and other operating jurisdictions

Monitoring and coordinating annual licensing renewal cycles, corporate regulatory filings, RECO/BCFSA/RECA/FSRA portal roster updates (such as RECO MyWeb, BCFSA IRIS, and myRECA), fee processing, and mandatory continuing education (CE) compliance for all designated brokerage leaders and corporate entities

Building working knowledge of CASL, the UTRs, and CRTC guidance, and developing an understanding of the regulatory landscape governing residential real estate brokerages and, ideally, mortgage brokerages in Canada (RECO, RECA, BCFSA, FSRA)

Investigating cases and performing initial case analysis to support senior compliance staff

Finding and implementing efficiencies using AI and other technology

Adhering to Questrade's and Zolo's compliance policies and procedures

So are YOU our next Compliance Officer, Business Compliance? You are if you…

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
