Looking for a security role where attention to detail really matters?
We’re looking for a reliable and switched-on CCTV Operator / Security Officer to join our team at a busy retail site in West Auckland.
This is a permanent role, with a strong focus on overnight CCTV monitoring, incident detection and response coordination. You’ll also support the wider security team across day and evening guarding shifts.
The set roster for this role is Wednesday to Friday day shifts and Saturday and Sunday overnight shifts, you must be available for these shifts at a minimum. We’re also looking for someone who can offer some flexibility to cover additional shifts when needed.
About the Role
You’ll play an important part in keeping the site safe, secure and running smoothly. Working across CCTV monitoring and on-the-ground security duties, no two shifts will be exactly the same.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring CCTV systems and identifying suspicious behaviour, hazards or security concerns
- Responding to and escalating incidents in line with site procedures
- Supporting security staff with CCTV observations, footage reviews and incident timelines
- Completing accurate incident reports, CCTV logs and shift handovers
- Monitoring alarms, access control, contractors and after-hours activity
- Communicating clearly with the wider security team, site management and emergency services when required
- Supporting guarding duties across day, evening and overnight shifts
- Providing professional and friendly customer service when working in public-facing areas
- Maintaining confidentiality when handling CCTV footage and sensitive information
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be someone who is observant, dependable and calm under pressure. You’ll be comfortable working independently overnight while also being a strong team player when working alongside the wider site team.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Previous security, CCTV, control room or retail security experience, although this is not essential
- A current Certificate of Approval (COA), or the ability to obtain one
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to complete clear and accurate incident reports
- Good judgement and the ability to remain calm during incidents
- A professional approach to confidentiality and privacy
- Strong reliability and punctuality
- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 security operation
- A professional presentation and positive attitude
