Position Overview At RM Mobile, Quality Control Technicians will support a major project in Sturgeon County. This position is primarily responsible for testing concrete at the mobile batch plant as well as on site to ensure the concrete meets client and engineering specifications. Responsibilities
Complete concrete quality tests such as temperature, air, and slump. Monitor pours and work with customers to ensure concrete meets specifications Evaluate material properties for use in concrete production. Communicate with project and site managers regarding concrete specifications, making recommendations to improve product quality as needed. Optimize concrete mixtures by adding appropriate admixtures and products. Provide technical knowledge, service, and support to customers. Liaise with plant staff, batcher, customers, and suppliers regarding product quality. Champion safety by participating in all safe work practices/procedures, wearing PPE, attending safety meetings, completing FLHAs and other safety record keeping, etc. Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications:
Reliable transportation, valid class 5 driver’s license, and clean drivers abstract.
Must be capable of completing physical tasks of up to 50lbs in weight. 1-2 years of experience working in the concrete, construction, or related industry. Civil engineering technology diploma or related education is preferred. Preferred experience with materials testing of concrete, asphalt, soil, etc.

Hours of Work Hours of work will vary based on project requirements, typically 8–12-hour shifts, and can include a combination of day shift, afternoon shift or night shift. Work Environment
Outdoor work in varying Alberta weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise. Work at active construction and project sites alongside heavy equipment and mixer trucks.
Physical Demands The position is physical in nature and requires bending, crawling, crouching, and standing for long periods of time. Materials are heavy and cumbersome. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Applicants will be required to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as part of the hiring process.
