The posting

Rush Street Interactive (NYSE: RSI) is a market leader in online casino and sports betting, currently operating real-money gaming with our brands: BetRivers.com, PlaySugarHouse.com, and RushBet.co. We’re building bridges between online, social and land-based gaming businesses to create amazing, integrated experiences that keep players in the game.

We are looking for a Product Owner, Sportsbook, who is the critical bridge between product strategy and delivery execution.

This role oversees the product definition, design, and development of sports wagering experiences, including featured bet offer pages, bet slip, odds and pricing display, live/in-play betting, live streaming, and more. It also covers sportsbook promotional and bonus features that drive player acquisition, engagement, and retention.

Our mission is to engage and delight players by delivering fun, fair, friendly, and focused experiences. We are committed to transparency, responsible gaming, and building an award-winning platform that provides exciting, differentiated, and personalized offerings to our customers.

What You'll Do:

Backlog Ownership & Story Definition

  • Own, maintain, and prioritize the sportsbook product backlog, keeping it organized, transparent, and aligned with the product roadmap as needs evolve, removing stale items and splitting oversized stories
  • Translate epics and requirements from Product Managers into clearly written user stories with sufficient context, defined scope, and testable acceptance criteria covering functional, quality, and experience standards

Sprint Planning, Delivery & Acceptance

  • Serve as the day-to-day voice of the product during daily standups, sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and execution
  • Act as the primary contact for engineers, designers, and QA, clarifying requirements, answering questions, and unblocking delivery
  • Make real-time prioritization decisions during sprints, balancing scope, quality, and timelines so teams build the right thing, in the right order
  • Collaborate with QA on test coverage and edge cases, review completed work against acceptance criteria, and conduct user acceptance testing

Product Alignment & Outcome Support

  • Work with Product Managers, Senior Product Managers, or Directors to understand each initiative’s problem context and business intent, and with Product Managers and Data teams to understand its success metrics and KPIs
  • Keep delivery aligned with the original product intent and expected outcomes
  • Include analytics instrumentation and tracking in story requirements to support post-launch measurement
  • Provide delivery-side feedback to inform future discovery, shaping, and roadmap decisions

Stakeholder Communication

  • Update product leadership on delivery progress, risks, blockers, and scope adjustments, and communicate sprint outcomes and release status to relevant business stakeholders
  • Escalate scope changes, ambiguities, gaps in epic definitions, and delivery or quality issues that could affect expected outcomes to Product Managers
  • Document backlog decisions, priority changes, and delivery trade-offs for transparency

Regulatory & Responsible Gaming Awareness

  • Incorporate regulatory, compliance, and responsible gaming requirements defined by Product Managers and the broader product team into delivery requirements
  • Verify that betting and promotional features meet market-specific requirements before release
  • Escalate regulatory concerns arising during delivery to Product Managers and compliance stakeholders

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in retrospectives to improve delivery processes, handoff quality, and team collaboration
  • Identify recurring delivery friction, including ambiguous epics, missing requirements, and scope creep, and work with Product Managers to address root causes
  • Stay current with agile best practices and contribute to evolving RSI’s product delivery standards

What You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, information systems, data science, marketing, economics, engineering, or a relevant field is preferred
  • 2+ years in a product owner, business analyst, or similar delivery-facing product role within an agile software development environment
  • Great communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), backlog management tools (JIRA, Asana), and user story writing
  • Experience in sports betting, iGaming, online casino, fintech, or adjacent consumer tech industries is preferred
  • Ability to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally #LI-REMOTE #LI-PROMOTE

  • Work-life balance initiatives
  • Autonomy – we embrace personal freedom and responsibility
  • Creativity – we are open to new ideas of how we can be better

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
