The posting

Location: Nikol, Ahmedabad, Gujarat Experience requirement: 2 to 3 years

We are looking for a Video Editor who can understand the purpose of the content, work with rough ideas or partial requirements, bring creative input, use modern editing and AI tools effectively, and take ownership of the final video output.

This is not only a video-cutting role. You should have a good understanding of video editing, graphics, motion graphics, storytelling, sound, social media content, and visual communication.

What We Need

  • Good knowledge of video editing and post-production
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, timing and viewer attention
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects
  • Knowledge of CapCut / similar modern editing tools and AI tools
  • Good understanding of graphics and visual design
  • Basic to good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator / Figma
  • Ability to create motion graphics and text animations
  • Ability to work with transitions, effects, masking and keyframes
  • Good understanding of audio editing, music and sound effects
  • Understanding of color correction and basic color grading
  • Experience creating subtitles and captions
  • Ability to work with B-roll, stock footage and supporting visuals
  • Understanding of different video dimensions and platform requirements
  • Ability to create content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, YouTube, LinkedIn and other platforms
  • Ability to understand references and recreate/improve a required visual style
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple video requirements when needed

Graphics & Motion Design

You should have a good visual sense and understand:

  • Typography
  • Colors
  • Layout and composition
  • Visual hierarchy
  • Branding
  • Motion graphics
  • Animated text
  • Callouts and highlights
  • Logo animation
  • UI / product animation
  • Infographics
  • Social media graphics
  • Thumbnails and supporting creatives

You are not expected to be a dedicated graphic designer, but you should be able to identify whether a visual looks professional, modern and consistent with the brand.

Creative & Storytelling Mindset

You should not depend on someone giving instructions for every cut, transition or animation.

Sometimes you may receive:

  • Raw footage
  • A script
  • A rough content idea
  • A product feature
  • A reference video
  • A customer problem
  • A marketing message
  • An expected outcome

Your responsibility is to convert that into an engaging final video.

You should be able to:

Understand → Research → Find References → Plan → Edit → Add Graphics → Review → Improve → Deliver

We are looking for someone who can contribute creatively, not only execute prepared editing instructions.

AI-Enabled Creative Workflow

We actively encourage the use of modern AI and creative tools.

You should know or be willing to learn how to use AI for:

  • Generating video concepts
  • Creating storyboards
  • Generating images and supporting visuals
  • Generating or enhancing video assets
  • Background removal/replacement
  • Audio enhancement
  • Voice cleanup
  • Captions and transcription
  • Generating B-roll
  • Creating animations
  • Researching content styles
  • Speeding up repetitive editing work

You may work with tools such as:

  • Adobe Firefly
  • Runway
  • Kling
  • Veo
  • Sora
  • ChatGPT
  • Claude
  • ElevenLabs
  • Descript
  • CapCut AI
  • Other upcoming AI creative tools

We do not want someone who simply uses AI templates and accepts whatever is generated.

You should be able to:

  • Give proper instructions/context to AI
  • Evaluate generated output
  • Identify poor-quality output
  • Modify and improve generated assets
  • Combine AI output with your own creativity
  • Keep learning new tools as the creative industry evolves

Content & Trend Awareness

You should actively understand current content styles and trends across:

  • Instagram
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn
  • Facebook
  • Short-form content platforms

You should understand:

  • Hooks
  • Audience retention
  • Fast-paced editing
  • Pattern interrupts
  • Short-form storytelling
  • Modern captions
  • Motion-based content
  • Personal-brand videos
  • Product videos
  • SaaS videos
  • Advertisement creatives

You should be able to understand why a particular editing style works, rather than simply copying trends.

Problem-to-Execution Mindset

Requirements will not always come as a fully prepared editing task.

Sometimes you may receive only:

  • A rough idea
  • A business requirement
  • Raw content
  • Partial clarity
  • A competitor/reference video
  • An expected outcome

Your responsibility is to help convert that into something executable.

Understand → Research → Ask Questions → Create Direction → Edit → Review → Improve → Deliver

We are looking for someone who can prepare and improve the creative solution, not only execute a ready-made task.

Creative & Ownership Mindset

You should understand:

  • Why the video is being created
  • Who the audience is
  • What message should be communicated
  • Where the video will be published
  • What action we expect viewers to take
  • What editing style fits the content
  • Whether the video is engaging enough

Before considering the work complete, you should review:

  • Is the first few seconds strong?
  • Is anything unnecessarily slow?
  • Is the message clear?
  • Does the graphics style look professional?
  • Is typography consistent?
  • Is the audio clean?
  • Is the pacing appropriate?
  • Does the content fit the platform?
  • Can anything be improved?

You should take responsibility for the final creative outcome, not simply completing the assigned edit.

Flexibility & Delivery

You should be comfortable with:

  • Changing creative requirements
  • Working on different types of content
  • Short-form and long-form videos
  • Social media content
  • Product and marketing videos
  • Learning unfamiliar tools
  • Trying new editing styles
  • Handling urgent creative requirements
  • Working with feedback and iterations
  • Taking responsibility for the final result

Future Scope – Creative & AI

As you grow in the role, you should be willing to learn and gradually work with:

  • Advanced motion graphics
  • 3D graphics and animation
  • Blender / Cinema 4D or similar tools
  • Advanced AI video generation
  • AI avatars
  • Generative video workflows
  • Automated content workflows
  • Creative direction
  • Content strategy
  • Brand storytelling

Deep experience in all these areas is not mandatory today, but your ability and willingness to continuously learn new creative technologies is important.

What We Value Most

  • Creativity
  • Strong editing fundamentals
  • Good graphic sense
  • Storytelling ability
  • Understanding of viewer attention
  • Motion graphics knowledge
  • Effective AI usage
  • Learning speed
  • Trend awareness
  • Attention to detail
  • Speed with quality
  • Flexibility
  • Ownership
  • Ability to work from rough ideas
  • Ability to grow into a Senior Video Editor / Creative Lead

This role may not be suitable for candidates who only know basic video cutting, depend heavily on templates, or expect step-by-step creative instructions for every task.

Practical Test: A short editing task will be given to evaluate practical editing and creative skills.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
