About Our Family

We are a busy, close-knit dual-military family navigating demanding careers, two little ones, and a beloved senior dog. Both Mom and Dad work outside the home, and Dad especially has a schedule that can vary from day to day. Military schedules can be incredibly unpredictable, and with training, travel, and deployments, we're entering a season when an extra set of hands at home will make a meaningful difference. We are active, health-conscious, and deeply invested in our family's well-being.

With a new baby and toddler at home, we're looking for someone who can help make the everyday routine a little easier. We're a thoughtful, organized family who values our time together and wants to spend less of it worrying about the little things that need to get done.

Home is our sanctuary, and we want it to stay that way even on the hardest weeks. We like things to feel comfortable, organized, and welcoming, but we also understand that life with young children doesn't always go according to plan! We're not looking for someone to take over or completely manage our household or childcare. We simply need a dependable, proactive person who can step in, notice what needs attention, and take care of the everyday details that can quickly add up for parents with limited time outside work.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You're warm, dependable, and naturally helpful, with a calm, organized approach to keeping a household running smoothly. You're resourceful, take pride in following through, and don't wait to be told what needs to be done. You proactively notice what needs attention, use good judgment, and take initiative while keeping the family informed.

You're comfortable working independently and anticipating the family's needs, whether that's planning meals, folding laundry, or keeping the afternoon routine on track. You understand that great support isn't just about checking off tasks; it's about taking some of the everyday mental load off the parents so they can spend more time with their children.

You're genuinely comfortable with young children, including an infant and a toddler. Afternoon daycare pickups are a significant part of this role, and you're confident in taking ownership of the pickup schedule and helping make the transition from daycare to home as smooth as possible. You're flexible and willing to jump in with additional coverage when needed, understanding that schedules and priorities can change, especially in a military household.

You're also confident in planning meals and preparing food for the week. You enjoy taking ownership of meal prep, thinking ahead, and ensuring the family has healthy, thoughtfully prepared meals ready to go. You're able to move naturally between supporting the children's routines, preparing meals, and handling household responsibilities, bringing a hands-on and helpful approach wherever support is needed.

You respect the family's personal space, communicate openly, and work thoughtfully in the background without disrupting the household's rhythm. Above all, you're someone the family can trust and count on to bring a little more calm and breathing room to their days.

Key Responsibilities

Family Support & Child Assistance

  • Pick up both children from daycare around 4:00 PM
  • Provide supervision and care from pickup until a parent is home, including the afternoon routine: preparing snacks and getting clothes and backpacks ready for the following day.
  • Prepare a wholesome morning snack for the toddler before daycare on applicable days
  • Provide occasional date-night and sick-day coverage when needed and arranged with the family

Meal Planning & Prep

  • Plan, and prepare approximately four dinners and four lunches per week; batch cooking and thoughtfully planned leftovers are encouraged
  • Coordinate grocery shopping for meal prep
  • Prepare healthy, balanced meals with quality protein, vegetables, and a carbohydrate
  • Take full ownership of the weekly menus: propose ideas, confirm with the family, and prepare independently
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance following prep

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Weekly light tidying: dishes, surfaces, and high-traffic floor areas
  • Keep children's toys organized and help rotate toys as needed
  • Sort through outgrown children's clothing and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Indoor plant care approximately once a month
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector as needed
  • Flag household maintenance issues as they arise
  • Change and clean humidifiers and air purifiers seasonally

Laundry & Linens

  • Fold and put away laundry (family handles washing)
  • Launder bed linens following child accidents; routine linen changes are not required
  • Keep laundry area tidy and well stocked with essentials

Inventory & Errands

  • Monitor and restock pantry and fridge staples
  • Notice when household supplies are running low and communicate with the family about restocking needs
  • Bring in deliveries, such as diapers, dog food, and packages, and sort and put items away as needed
  • Handle returns and ad hoc errands as they come up

Pet Care

  • Let the family dog outside as needed while working in the home
  • Bring in and put away pet food deliveries when they arrive

Vendor & Administrative Support

  • Be present for repair vendors, contractors, and service appointments
  • Schedule car maintenance, vet visits, and repair calls on an as-needed basis (not routine)
  • Stay familiar with the shared household calendar and help flag upcoming appointments, vendor scheduling needs, and other details that require attention
  • Assist with occasional administrative tasks and other small details that help keep the household organized and running smoothly

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
