Job Title

Household Manager & Family Assistant (with Meal Prep Support)

Location

Belton, SC 29627

Employment Type

Part-time | 15–25 hours per week

Schedule

The candidate may choose their own schedule Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., either a few hours each day or 2–3 longer days. Once set, the schedule should stay consistent from week to week so the family knows when to expect them in the home.

The role will start at 15–20 hours per week, with the potential to grow to 20–25 hours.

Compensation

$30–$35 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Start Date

As soon as possible

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Ability to lift and carry household items, groceries, and supplies as needed.
  • Comfortable independently managing contractors, service providers, and errand-related tasks with minimal supervision.

About Our Family

We’re a busy, entrepreneurial family with two school-age children and a senior dog, balancing demanding work schedules and after-school activities. We’re often away from home from early morning until evening, and we’re looking for someone who can keep our household running smoothly and make it a calm, welcoming place to return to.

We value initiative, good judgment, and thoughtful communication. The right person will notice what needs attention, handle day-to-day tasks independently, and check in when a decision calls for it. We care deeply about our home and are looking for someone who will treat it—and the people and pets in it—with care and discretion.

In return, we offer flexibility, trust, and the autonomy to make a meaningful difference in a household that genuinely appreciates the support.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

  • A self-starter who notices what needs doing—laundry, pantry restocking, appointments—and takes initiative without waiting for a checklist.
  • Comfortable making sound decisions independently and knowing when to check in.
  • Organized, resourceful, and calm while managing an ongoing to-do list.
  • Takes pride in their work, communicates proactively, and treats the family’s home with care and discretion.
  • Honest and accountable.
  • Leaves the home better than they found it.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Tackle room-by-room decluttering, purging, and organization, including closets, the pantry, and the mudroom/laundry room.
  • Daily resets and prep home for cleaners (bi-weekly).
  • Support with seasonal swaps of children’s clothing and help to coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Keep shared spaces tidy by handling dishes, clearing and resetting surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
  • Monitor indoor plant irrigation systems and flag any failures.
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc.

Laundry & Linens

  • Manage household laundry, including uniforms and sportswear, and keep clean clothes organized and ready to wear.
  • Have clean linens ready for the cleaners to remake the beds during their biweekly visits.
  • Handle ongoing dry cleaning drop-off and pick-up, including working through an existing backlog.

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Oversee cleaners/contractors/landscapers
  • Research/coordinate repairs and quotes
  • Seasonal property maintenance
  • Manage outdoor spaces
  • Oversee home systems (HVAC/security)

Inventory & Errands

  • Grocery shop or manage Instacart orders; keep pantry, fridge, and household supplies stocked, and coordinate deliveries when the family is away.
  • Manage running household supply lists
  • Pick up prescriptions at the local pharmacy.
  • Occasionally deliver forgotten dance or basketball items to the children’s school or activity location.

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Manage appointment scheduling: doctor, vet, groomer, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Handle airport parking reservations and pet care arrangements prior to trips.
  • Assist with packing and unpacking after family travel.

Pet Care

  • Care for the family’s senior dog: let the dog outside regularly and schedule grooming and vet appointments.
  • Arrange for dog sitting when the family travels.

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Arrange car washes and maintenance appointments for the family vehicle.

Meal Support

  • Batch cook and prepare meals approximately 3–5 nights per week (no dietary restrictions).
  • Prepare occasional packed lunches as needed; the children usually have hot lunch at school.

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Assist with holiday decorating and seasonal home prep, including guest-ready staging.
  • Deep clean areas beyond the scope of regular cleaning, including the fridge, oven, baseboards, and pantry.
  • Organize and reorganize household closets one by one to maintain orderly, functional, and clutter-free storage spaces.
  • Take on special organization and deep-clean projects as they arise.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
