About Our Family

We’re a busy family looking for someone dependable, organized, and detail-oriented to help keep things running smoothly at home.

A big part of the role is picking up our teenage daughter from school and driving her to activities, managing the family’s laundry, and helping keep our home tidy and organized. We’re looking for someone who enjoys this kind of work, notices the little things, and takes pride in doing a job well.

We have a regular cleaning service, so this isn’t a traditional housekeeping position. It’s more about staying on top of the everyday details that make a home feel organized and comfortable.

We’d love to find someone who is thoughtful, reliable, and comfortable working independently, while keeping communication easy and open. We’re hoping to build a positive, long-term working relationship based on trust and mutual respect.

Who You Are / What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is naturally conscientious and organized, enjoys keeping things in order, and takes pride in their work.

Ideally, you’re someone who:

  • Is a safe, responsible, and reliable driver who is comfortable transporting a teenager to and from school and activities.
  • Pays attention to the details and enjoys doing things carefully and thoroughly.
  • Takes good care of the home and its belongings, treating clothing, furnishings, and household items thoughtfully and following care instructions and household preferences.
  • Is dependable and follows through, making sure things get done without needing frequent reminders.
  • Is comfortable working independently, but happy to ask questions or check in when needed.
  • Is friendly, professional, and discreet, with respect for the family’s privacy.
  • Is adaptable and comfortable with occasional schedule changes, understanding that plans and priorities sometimes shift.

Experience in a similar household role would be great, but we’re just as interested in finding someone with the right attitude, good judgment, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

Family Support

School Pickups & Activities

This is one of the most important parts of the role.

  • Pick up our daughter from school and drive her to extracurricular activities using our vehicle.
  • Help keep track of transportation plans and communicate any schedule changes.
  • Keep school and activity-related belongings organized and ready to go.

Laundry & Linens

Laundry is another big part of the position, and we’d love someone who enjoys keeping it organized and running smoothly.

  • Handle the family’s regular laundry, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and putting clothes away.
  • Follow clothing care instructions and set aside delicate or dry-clean-only items for professional cleaning.
  • Help with dry cleaning drop-offs and pickups.
  • Keep towels, linens, and other household laundry washed, organized, and replenished.
  • Handle occasional light ironing.
  • Keep the laundry area neat and organized.

Household Organization & Maintenance

We have a regular cleaning service, so we’re mainly looking for someone who enjoys keeping things organized and staying on top of the everyday tidying and household details between cleanings.

  • Keep common areas tidy and put things back where they belong.
  • Unload the dishwasher, wipe down kitchen counters, and help keep the kitchen organized.
  • Vacuum high-traffic areas and help with light housekeeping as needed.
  • Keep the mudroom, entryway, closets, and other frequently used spaces organized.
  • Help maintain simple, practical systems for organizing household items.
  • Get guest rooms ready when needed, including fresh linens and essentials.
  • Care for household surfaces, furnishings, and belongings using appropriate products and methods.
  • Help with occasional organizing projects and seasonal changes.

Inventory & Errands

  • Keep an eye on household supplies, pantry items, and other everyday essentials.
  • Help maintain shopping lists and place orders when needed.
  • Run occasional errands, including returns, dry cleaning, and pickups.
  • Bring in mail and packages and break down boxes.
  • Help with light kitchen tasks, basic meal prep, and food organization as needed.
  • Help with packing or unpacking for trips when requested.
  • Help with occasional pet care, such as letting the dog out or taking the dog for a short walk as needed.
  • Water indoor plants as needed.

Additional Household Support & Projects

Depending on the week and available time, there may also be opportunities to help with:

  • Occasional cleaning tasks outside the regular cleaning service, such as cleaning the refrigerator or smaller household appliances.
  • Getting the house ready for guests or entertaining.
  • Seasonal organizing projects, including clothing, decorations, and storage areas.
  • Keeping the family vehicle clean, fueled, and organized.
  • Letting in scheduled service providers or helping coordinate household appointments.
  • Small household projects or administrative tasks as needed.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
