Job Description:
Job Summary
The successful applicant will be expected to teach introductory cellular and molecular biology courses for biology majors and contribute to the General Biology curriculum. Engage in research including mentoring of undergraduate research projects. Provide service to the Department, School, University, and community.
Authority and Accountability
This faculty member reports to the chair of biological sciences, Dr. Elizabeth Emmert. This faculty member does not have budgetary responsibility or authority over other SU employees.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in a biological subdiscipline or related discipline with expertise in cellular biology, molecular biology, or microbiology.
- Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and research
- Effective written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate level
- Successfully completed a post-doctoral experience
