The posting
Schneider Electric has a meaningful opportunity for a Project Manager, preferably in Nashville, to join a high-visibility cost-transformation program. This role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to orchestrate a complex portfolio from idea through execution. About the NAM ZBB Program North America Operations is launching a zero-based review of how we organize and what we spend. Rather than adjusting last year’s budget up or down, zero-based budgeting methodology rebuilds the cost base from the work that actually needs to be done. The program covers two areas: organization (who does what work, and how much capacity we need) and spend (what we buy, and why). The first wave covers project execution and strategy roles across our Business Units, along with non-headcount spend in selected cost centers, and builds on a successful pilot in another Schneider Electric region. The program is run by a small dedicated team – a Program lead, a Finance lead and an HR lead – working alongside an external consulting partner for the initial projects and to build the capabilities. The team reports to a Steering Committee that includes NAM Senior management. Role Overview You will be the program integrator and single point of accountability to the Steering Committee. You will own the program cadence, partner interfaces and system of management—moving every initiative from idea to commitment and execution. Responsibilities Own the overall program governance, operating cadence, and management system, including Steering Committees, workshops, and executive decision forums. Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated program roadmaps, milestones, interdependencies, risks, and mitigation plans in close connection to Finance and HR Lead enterprise-wide data collection efforts and activity assessments in partnership with external consulting teams. Serve as the primary Schneider Electric program lead for the selected consulting firm, managing Statements of Work (SOWs), phase-gate reviews, deliverable acceptance, and financial milestones. Partner with senior business leaders to secure executive sponsorship, accountability, and decision timelines for strategic initiatives; monitor progress from ideation through execution. Drive initiative readiness for business and finance review, facilitating alignment with Business SVPs and Finance partners while proactively escalating decision bottlenecks and risks. Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, HR, Business Units, and external consulting partners to ensure successful program execution and value realization. Track program performance, key decisions, action items, and execution outcomes, ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely delivery of objectives. Skills and Competencies Strong program leadership and integration skills across complex, cross-functional initiatives. Executive presence and the ability to run effective senior-level decision forums. Proven ability to influence without authority and establish accountability across a matrix organization. Excellent planning, prioritization, dependency and risk-management capabilities. Strong vendor-management skills, including scope, deliverables, acceptance criteria and commercial milestones. Ability to translate complex program information into clear, executive-ready messages. Comfortable leading through ambiguity, creating structure and working at pace. Persistent, pragmatic, and results-oriented, with the judgment to escalate at the right time. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Engineering or a related field; MBA preferred. At least [8+] years of experience in program management, transformation, PMO leadership or management consulting. Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide or cross-functional transformation programs. Experience managing external consulting partners, statements of work and milestone-based deliverables. Strong knowledge of program governance, decision management, risk management and executive reporting. Experience in cost transformation, productivity programs or zero-based budgeting is a strong plus. Experience in a matrixed multinational manufacturing or industrial organization preferred.
