Responsibilities

  • Foster compassionate companionship and emotional support: Build trusting relationships through active listening, patience, and kindness, helping clients feel valued, heard, and emotionally supported during their daily routines.
  • Assist with essential daily living tasks: Provide gentle, respectful assistance with activities such as eating, walking, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote independence while ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate as part of a holistic care team: Maintain clear and timely communication with nurses, family members, and other healthcare professionals by accurately observing, documenting, and reporting any changes in clients’ physical or emotional health.
  • Engage clients in personalized, meaningful activities: Encourage participation in hobbies, games, and social interactions tailored to individual interests and abilities to boost mental stimulation, joy, and social connection.

Requirements

  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years old to ensure maturity and responsibility in caregiving duties.
  • Educational Background: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required to meet the foundational knowledge needed for this position.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Transportation: Caregivers must hold a current driver’s license, maintain up-to-date insurance, and have dependable transportation to visit clients at their residences reliably and on schedule.
  • Training and Orientation: Successful completion of all required paid training sessions and orientation programs is essential to provide high-quality and safe care services.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication abilities are necessary to interact clearly and empathetically with clients, families, and the wider care team.
  • Compassionate and Dependable Work Ethic: Caregivers should demonstrate genuine care, dependability, and a strong commitment to delivering outstanding non-medical companion care every day.
