Locations: Kansas City, MO (Hybrid)

About the Role

SS&C Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Funding & Reimbursement Specialist to support financial operations related to pharmacy claims processing. In this role, you will be responsible for reconciling financial transactions, verifying customer funding, and supporting the accurate and timely disbursement of pharmacy claim payments.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in basic accounting, experience reconciling financial data, and intermediate Excel skills. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, and the ability to independently investigate discrepancies in a deadline-driven environment. Prior pharmacy or healthcare industry experience is helpful but not required.

This is a temporary position with the potential to transition into a permanent role at SS&C. The opportunity offers hands-on experience with our financial operations, systems, and processes while contributing to a team supporting critical pharmacy claims payment activities. Permanent conversion may be considered based on individual performance, business needs, and position availability.

Why Join SS&C

SS&C combines proprietary technology with deep industry expertise to support complex financial and health care operations. Our teams design, implement, and operate solutions that help clients manage data, automate processes, and scale their businesses with confidence.

You will work with industry experts, modern platforms, and evolving technologies, gaining exposure to real-world operational challenges and large-scale enterprise environments.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Perform daily and month-end bank reconciliations, ensuring customer funding, financial reports, and payment transactions are accurate and balanced.
  • Review and validate financial reports against incoming customer funding, identifying and investigating discrepancies.
  • Support accurate and timely processing of pharmacy claim payments, including electronic funds transfers (EFT) and paper check disbursements.
  • Research and resolve financial discrepancies independently when possible, escalating complex issues with recommended solutions.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data, reconcile transactions, and support reporting activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation while ensuring compliance with established procedures, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot processing issues, learn evolving financial systems, and support process improvements and system transitions.

Required Experience

  • Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial operations, payment processing, or a related field involving financial transactions and reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, including balancing financial reports, tracking payments, and reconciling transactions.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting/filtering, and experience with lookup functions (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), formulas, and pivot tables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accuracy when processing financial transactions.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and learn new systems and processes.

What Sets You Apart (preferred qualifications)

  • Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Equivalent relevant professional experience will be considered.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or high-volume financial transaction processing.
  • Proficiency with Excel-based financial reporting, data analysis, and reconciliation activities.
  • Experience working with multiple financial systems, web-based applications, or supporting system implementations and transitions.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy benefit management (PBM), pharmacy claims, healthcare reimbursement, or insurance-related financial operations.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
