This growing department is building a community of technology innovators at St Jude, whose research focuses on the development and application of novel methods for imaging and quantitative measurement.

Applicants should be passionate about pushing the bounds of imaging - and applying their techniques to accelerate biomedical research or directly improve clinical care. St Jude Children’s Research Hospital is dedicated to the mission of preventing or curing catastrophic childhood disorders. Our world-class faculty members have deep expertise in oncology, developmental neurobiology, immunology, structural biology, cell and molecular biology, infectious diseases, host-microbe interactions, chemical biology and therapeutics, computational biology and more. New institutional programs focusing on data-science and data-driven discovery combine with extensive shared facilities for optical and electron microscopy, clinical imaging, sequencing and spatial-omics to make St Jude the kind of environment where rapid progress can be made in a highly collegial, collaborative and motivating environment.

The Department of Imaging Sciences is recruiting 8 new faculty over the next 3 years, working across broad areas of imaging, including (but not limited to) multi-omics, structural and functional microscopy, multi-modal (ultrasound, MRI, PET, optical, electrical) and meso-scale imaging, lab automation, clinical imaging innovations ranging from histopathology to whole-body imaging, tracer / indicator development, sample preparation innovations, wearables and quantification of behavior. Approaches that incorporate quantitative analysis, computational modeling, and AI integration are also of strong interest.

Applicants should be highly collaborative and committed to pursuing impactful applications of their approaches, while also driving their widespread adoption. To facilitate technology transfer, the Department of Imaging Sciences is establishing shared resources including an Advanced Design and Fabrication Core, a Biomedical Testing and Sample Preparation Support core, a Data Analytics Support core, and a Productization and Dissemination Core that will provide hands-on support to guide technologies towards having their highest impact both locally and globally.

The Department of Imaging Sciences faculty will be expected to establish independent labs at St Jude and will be provided with lab space, start-up funds, salary coverage and ongoing institutional support to build their world-class program. Employee support and benefits are highly competitive, and St. Jude is consistently highly ranked in Fortune magazine’s list of 100 best places to work. Come join us!

Candidates must have a PhD or MD/PhD degree, postdoctoral experience, evidence of high-quality, impactful prior contributions to the imaging sciences field, including peer-reviewed publications and / or patents. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to mentoring and be strongly motivated to develop a transformative collaborative research program at St Jude.

To apply: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, a 3–5-page summary of their accomplishments and future research plans, a full CV, and contact information for three references. Please submit materials directly online.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, but formal review for our FY26-27 cycle will begin November 16th 2026.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
