COMPANY OVERVIEW

STACK Infrastructure builds, owns, and operates hyperscale and colocation data centers that power the world’s most ambitious technology companies. With a rapidly expanding footprint across APAC, STACK combines deep development expertise, flexible capital, and operational discipline to deliver critical digital infrastructure at scale.

Our clients include the largest hyperscale cloud platforms. We are building a regional platform defined by speed of delivery, power reliability, and long-term partnership — and we are assembling the team to lead that effort.

About the role

The Senior Electrical Commissioning Manager will work as part of the STACK Data Centre Melbourne team and be responsible for the management of commissioning of mission critical equipment, start-up, and testing for projects in Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership for the planning and execution of commissioning activities, ensuring systems are delivered safely, in accordance with STACK standards and ready for operational handover.

- Manage commissioning activities for assigned projects, including relevant design, contractual, programme and commercial interfaces, in consultation with STACK management.

- Lead and coordinate STACK commissioning personnel allocated to assigned projects.

- Manage and oversee Commissioning Agent (CxA) consultants for assigned projects, ensuring scope, deliverables, quality and programme obligations are achieved.

- Support the preparation of CxA RFP documentation and participate in the procurement, evaluation and appointment of CxA consultants.

- Work with the GC, CxA and STACK stakeholders to review commissioning programmes, identify risks and constraints, and recommend recovery or mitigation actions where required.

- Support the development, review and approval of equipment, system, Level 4 and Level 5 test scripts, including integrated systems testing and load-bank testing activities.

- Review CxA documentation and reports, including design reviews, load-bank plans, IST intent and methodology, interim reports and final commissioning reports.

- Conduct commissioning-focused design reviews with STACK Engineering to confirm that systems are testable, safe, operable, maintainable and capable of meeting the required operational outcome.

- Liaise with Operations to understand handover requirements and ensure operational readiness, documentation, training and outstanding defects are appropriately managed.

About you

- Degree or trade qualification in electrical engineering or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.

- Demonstrated leadership experience coordinating commissioning, technical assurance, factory testing or quality activities across projects, suppliers or technical teams.

- 3–5 years' experience in electrical commissioning, factory testing, quality assurance or technical delivery within a mission-critical, industrial or regulated environment.

- Experience with critical electrical infrastructure, including LV/MV switchboards, modular switch rooms, PDUs, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, protection and controls systems.

- Experience managing or witnessing FATs, SATs, functional testing, defect close-out and supplier corrective actions.

- Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, protection settings, ITPs, test procedures and technical specifications.

- Sound knowledge of electrical safety, switching, test planning, commissioning risk management and quality-assurance practices.

- Experience using commissioning management, quality or document-control systems.

- Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work across suppliers, engineering, construction, commissioning and operations teams.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam and project-management software.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
