COMPANY OVERVIEW

STACK Infrastructure builds, owns, and operates hyperscale and colocation data centers that power the world’s most ambitious technology companies. With a rapidly expanding footprint across APAC, STACK combines deep development expertise, flexible capital, and operational discipline to deliver critical digital infrastructure at scale.

Our clients include the largest hyperscale cloud platforms. We are building a regional platform defined by speed of delivery, power reliability, and long-term partnership — and we are assembling the team to lead that effort.

About the role

STACK APAC is expanding its Australian Engineering team, and the Design Manager role is key to this expansion. Detailed and design process orientated, you will remain strategically focused while being able to deep dive and support the project teams on any and all issues as they may arise, in a culture of support and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

- Develop engineering/design briefs and RFPs for projects.

- Work closely with the Design Director and delivery team(s) on appointing engineering/design consultants and equipment vendors.

- Work with the Design Director and delivery team(s) to outline the engineering/design consultants' deliverables at the inception of each project and manage outputs to agreed schedule(s).

- Ensure engineering/design consultants are briefed at the inception of every project.

- Facilitate Engineering/Design reviews through weekly meetings and design stage-gate reviews with the project stakeholders.

- Provide ongoing advice/input into the projects to ensure STACK's brief/requirements are met.

- Support VP, Engineering – Design Management (APAC) and Design Director with long lead equipment/technology procurement initiatives including vendor relationships, technical specifications and keeping up to date with new technology in market.

- Work on cost saving opportunities and initiatives on projects under your remit with the Design Director.

- Support the Design Director with implementing Customer designs and engineering requirements.

About you

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Project Management, or relevant built environment field.

- 5-10 years progressive experience in construction/engineering development, with a minimum 5 year multi-disciplinary project lead experience.

- Experience in construction project delivery, project controls and risk management.

- Data Centre project experience (or similarly complex) would be advantageous.

- Working experience leading and collaborating on 3D Design Tools, BIM process and methodology and implementation of 4D/5D design principles.

- Strong presentation and communication skills.

- Strong spoken and written English.

- Must be qualified to work in Australia.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
