The posting

Position: Regulatory Reporting – Technical Architect

Location: Bengaluru

Position: Permanent

Experience: 10–15 years of technology experience within Financial Services, Capital Markets, Asset Management or a related environment.

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect – Regulatory Reporting to provide hands-on technical leadership, solution design and engineering direction for Regulatory Reporting applications.

The role requires a strong combination of transaction regulatory reporting domain knowledge and hands-on technology expertise, with primary focus on EMIR, MiFID II / MiFIR, ASIC Derivative Transaction Reporting, SFTR and FinFraG.

The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of scalable, resilient and supportable regulatory reporting solutions, translating regulatory and business requirements into technology solutions while providing technical direction to the development team.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. The candidate should be comfortable moving between architecture and solution design, code and database reviews, data analysis, performance troubleshooting, production investigations and mentoring developers.

Strong hands-on experience is required across Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting, together with good working experience in Java and Python and experience processing high-volume transaction and reference data.

The candidate should also be comfortable using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering activities such as code development, analysis, testing, documentation and troubleshooting while following appropriate technology and security controls.

Key Responsibilities

Solution & Technical Architecture

  • Own the end-to-end technical architecture for Regulatory Reporting applications and platforms.
  • Translate regulatory and business requirements into robust technical designs and implementation solutions.
  • Define application, integration, database, batch-processing and reporting architecture.
  • Provide architecture guidance for new regulatory implementations, regulatory rewrites and changes to existing reporting obligations.
  • Develop architecture designs covering data ingestion → transformation → validation/enrichment → reporting → reconciliation → exception management.
  • Design solutions capable of processing large volumes of transaction and reference data while maintaining performance, scalability and reliability.
  • Lead modernization of legacy regulatory-reporting applications and identify opportunities to simplify and automate existing processes.

Regulatory Reporting

Provide technical leadership for implementations and regulatory changes covering:

  • EMIR
  • MiFID II / MiFIR
  • ASIC Derivative Transaction Reporting
  • SFTR
  • FinFraG

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze regulatory requirements and determine their impact on applications, data and reporting processes.
  • Partner with Regulatory Reporting SMEs, Business Analysts, Compliance and Operations teams to translate regulatory requirements into technology solutions.
  • Design reporting solutions covering transaction reporting, lifecycle-event processing, valuation/collateral reporting where applicable, reconciliations and exception management.
  • Support regulatory changes, reporting-field changes, validation-rule updates and regulatory rewrites.
  • Ensure appropriate traceability from source-system data through transformations to final regulatory-reporting output.
  • Provide technical support for investigations into reporting breaks and data-quality issues.

· Understand trade lifecycle and regulatory reporting requirements across relevant asset classes and identify the technology impact of business and regulatory changes.

Engineering & Database Expertise

Strong / Expert

  • Oracle Database
  • SQL
  • PL/SQL
  • Complex SQL development and optimization
  • Stored procedures, packages, functions and database jobs
  • Data modelling
  • Query and database performance tuning
  • Large-volume transaction-data processing
  • Regulatory data transformation and validation
  • Data analysis and production troubleshooting

The candidate should be capable of analyzing complex regulatory datasets and tracing a reported transaction from upstream data through transformation logic to the final regulatory output.

Application Development

Strong working knowledge of:

  • Java
  • Python

Experience should include developing or maintaining regulatory, transaction-processing or high-volume batch applications.

Python experience should include its practical use for automation, data processing, reconciliation, validation, investigation and modernization opportunities.

Unix/Linux, Batch & Automation

Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Unix/Linux
  • Shell scripting
  • Batch processing
  • File processing and automation
  • Job scheduling and monitoring
  • Secure file-transfer and integration patterns
  • Production troubleshooting
  • Log analysis
  • Operational support and recovery
  • Automated monitoring and exception handling

Production Support & Engineering Governance

  • Provide senior technical support for complex Regulatory Reporting production incidents.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for reporting failures, data-quality problems, batch failures and performance issues.
  • Drive permanent remediation rather than tactical fixes for recurring production problems.
  • Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, release implementation and post-production validation.
  • Ensure appropriate technical documentation, operational procedures and support models are maintained.
  • Work with infrastructure, database, security, middleware and upstream application teams to resolve cross-platform issues.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, technology upgrades and platform modernization activities.
  • Ensure solutions comply with applicable security, technology-risk and engineering standards.

AI-Assisted Engineering

  • Use approved AI-assisted development capabilities to accelerate software development, SQL analysis, testing, troubleshooting and technical documentation.
  • Identify opportunities where AI can improve developer productivity, regulatory data analysis, reconciliation and exception investigation.
  • Apply appropriate engineering, security and data-governance controls when using AI-assisted development capabilities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
