The posting

What we are looking for:

Charles River Development seeks an exceptional UX Designer to help create great experiences for users of our industry-leading Alpha Data Platform. This role is ideal for a designer who can turn complex requirements into clear, usable workflows for enterprise users.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working on data-rich B2B products and can think beyond individual screens to the broader end-to-end user experience. They should bring strength in product design, interaction design, visual design, and modern UI patterns.

Why this role is important to us:

The Alpha Data Platform provides investment firms with accurate, reliable data to run their daily operations. As a UX Designer at CRD, you will work with lead designers and cross-functional product teams to design for users of that platform such as data managers, operations teams, and risk managers.

The platform has many applications with complex workflows with dense data, powerful configuration, and multi-step tasks. You will help make those experiences clearer, more efficient, and more consistent across the platform.

You will contribute directly to product delivery while also helping strengthen common patterns across CRD applications through thoughtful use of shared UX standards and the Alpha Design System.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Work at the direction of a Lead UX Designer to plan and then execute design efforts
  • Participate in the full UX design and development cycle – including research, concepts, interaction and visual design, development support, QA, and usability testing
  • Leverage the Alpha Design System to create comprehensive prototypes for review by product management and users and ensure the design is consistent with established UX patterns and standards
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews and incorporate feedback from product, engineering, and UX peers
  • Be an active member of the UX team, sharing and providing feedback, helping to establish common patterns across our many products and features.
  • Create and maintain design artifacts that effectively and efficiently communicate design concepts
  • Work with engineers to communicate requirements of the functional design, and adjust design as needed to accommodate technical/practical constraints
  • Help maintain consistency across products by applying shared patterns, standards, and reusable interaction approaches

Education and preferred qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in UI/UX design, including experience designing products for the financial industry
  • Strong interaction design and problem-solving skills for complex user workflows
  • Experience providing user experience design within a fast-paced, Agile process
  • Experience with the full software development cycle, from initial concept to detailed design to implementation and delivery to market
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects while maintaining design quality and attention to detail
  • Experience with Figma for design, prototyping, creating and using design systems.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates:
  • A strong user-centered design sensibility
  • A clear understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
  • A thoughtful approach to designing complex workflows and task flows
  • Facility with the experience design process, including user modeling, conceptual understanding, design exploration, through to detailed prototyping and specification for development.

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $113,750 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
