Used by thousands of clubs across five continents for more than 35 years, Jonas Club combines hospitality-grade performance with a global team of over 6,000 professionals focused on service, security and continuous improvement. It is engineered for hospitality operations, complies with SOC 2 and PCI requirements, and supports extensibility through APIs and partner integrations. POSITION

The Payments Implementation Specialist is responsible for leading the successful onboarding, implementation, and deployment of payment processing solutions for new and existing clients. This role reports to the Manager of Jonas Club Payments and works closely with Project Managers to keep implementations moving and clients set up for long-term success, as well as cross-departmentally with the Sales, Support, Product/Development teams.

The ideal candidate will be extremely self-motivated, collaborative, client-focused, and have a demonstrated ability to set priorities. You have strong project coordination skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of payment processing, merchant onboarding, card-present and card-not-present transactions, ACH/EFT processing, payment gateways, hardware deployment, and payment industry best practices.

You'll own each implementation from kickoff through go-live: gathering requirements, configuring the system to match how our clients operate, and coordinating everyone who needs to be involved. You're comfortable being the person clients rely on to keep things on track, and you take pride in a smooth, well-run implementation, able to step in and steer any situation to make that a reality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own each implementation from kickoff through go-live, keeping clubs on track to complete onboarding within our standard timeline
  • Conduct Pre-Implementation and Implementation kickoff meetings and establish project timelines and milestones.
  • Act as the primary client contact throughout the onboarding and implementation process.
  • Coordinate with internal, client, and partner resources to ensure timely project completion.
  • Create and manage implementation schedules, risks, dependencies, and escalations.
  • Provide regular project status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate implementation readiness reviews and go-live planning activities.
  • Coordinate merchant account onboarding and processor setup activities.
  • Coach clients through the collection, validation, and tracking of required merchant documentation.
  • Ensure proper configuration of payment processing environments and credentials.
  • Support Online Payments, PAP, POS, Hotel, and MPOS implementations.
  • Monitor onboarding progress and proactively address delays or issues.
  • Coordinate payment integration activities between customers, internal technical teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Assist clients with gateway configuration, testing, and certification requirements.
  • Support deployment of payment devices, terminals, and associated hardware.
  • Facilitate end-to-end testing, validation, and production cutover activities.
  • Ensure implementation requirements align with documented product capabilities and client expectations.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage implementation-related inquiries and provide timely resolution of issues.
  • Conduct client training sessions and product walkthroughs as needed.
  • Ensure clients understand implementation timelines, requirements, and dependencies.
  • Provide white-glove service during critical implementations and migrations.
  • Identify implementation risks and proactively develop mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate resolution of onboarding, integration, funding, settlement, or processor-related issues.
  • Escalate critical client concerns appropriately while maintaining ownership through resolution.
  • Partner with Support and Product teams to address implementation challenges.
  • Document lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain detailed implementation documentation and project records.
  • Develop and update implementation playbooks, procedures, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve onboarding efficiency and client experience.
  • Contribute to implementation metrics, reporting, and operational dashboards.
  • Participate in recurring reviews of implementation performance and customer feedback.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience in implementation, project coordination, client onboarding, or customer success.
  • Experience working within the payments, fintech, banking, software, or technology industries.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing concepts, including credit card processing, ACH/EFT transactions, payment gateways, merchant account onboarding, settlement and funding processes, and payment hardware and terminals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with CRM, project management, and ticketing systems.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with payment processors such as Elavon, Worldpay, Shift4, Fiserv, Global Payments, or similar providers.
  • Familiarity with PCI DSS requirements and payment security best practices.
  • Experience supporting software integrations, APIs, or payment gateways.
  • Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, Agile, or similar).
  • Experience implementing payment solutions within hospitality, club, retail, or SaaS environments.
  • Knowledge of merchant pricing, interchange, and payment operations.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
