The posting

My client, a Dubai government entity, is looking to hire a Senior Food Permits Officer (Emirati) to oversee food-related permits, approvals and accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with applicable food safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve permits and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for food establishments.
  • Approve food labelling, packaging and repackaging applications.
  • Accredit food transportation vehicles, training providers and consultancy companies.
  • Review permits for temporary food activities, events and promotional campaigns.
  • Review and approve food establishment plans, including factories, hotels and catering companies.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Develop training plans and provide on-the-job training to Food Permits Officers.
  • Monitor performance, analyse reports and recommend operational improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Safety, Food Science, Food Processing or Public Health.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience.

Required Competencies

  • Knowledge of federal and local food safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of food regulations, standards and quality requirements.
  • Food safety risk assessment.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Innovation, creativity and customer focus.
  • Excellence in execution.
