  • Perform machining operations including boring, milling, drilling, thread milling, rigid tapping, reaming, and precision finishing.
  • Machine parts to close tolerances of ±0.001 inch while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, process sheets, and work instructions.
  • Select, install, and align cutting tools, workholding devices, fixtures, and tooling required for each setup.
  • Verify first-piece inspections and make machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy throughout production runs.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection instruments.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make programming or tooling adjustments to optimize quality and productivity.
  • Collaborate with Tool Makers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Production personnel to support tooling development and manufacturing improvements.
  • Maintain machine performance through routine preventive maintenance and proper housekeeping practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Accurately document setup information, tooling changes, inspection results, and production records.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Technical school or machining certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of CNC setup experience in a precision machining or tool room environment.
  • Experience setting up CNC machining centers for low-volume, high-precision manufacturing.
  • Ability to machine parts to ±0.001 inch tolerances.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with CNC controls such as Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and height gauges.
  • Strong understanding of cutting tools, workholding, feeds and speeds, and machining principles.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting tool rooms, Tool & Die operations, or precision manufacturing environments.
  • CNC programming experience using Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
