Position Overview: The Processing Attendant is responsible for the efficient processing of seafood products, ensuring that they meet company standards for quality and safety. This role involves handling, preparing, and packaging various types of seafood, following strict hygiene and sanitation procedures. The attendant will work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment to meet production targets while adhering to food safety regulations. Key Responsibilities: Processing Seafood:

Clean, fillet, skin, debone, and cut various types of seafood including fish, shellfish, and crustaceans - based on location. Operate machinery and equipment for seafood processing, ensuring proper use and maintenance. Sort and grade seafood according to size, weight, and quality. Ensure that all seafood products are processed in accordance with company standards and customer specifications.

Packaging and Labeling:

Package seafood products in accordance with quality standards, ensuring that packaging is secure and properly labeled. Weigh and label packaged products accurately, ensuring that all required information is included.

Quality Control:

Inspect seafood products for defects, foreign materials, or inconsistencies. Report any issues or discrepancies to the Production Supervisor. Assist in conducting quality checks and maintaining records of production.

Hygiene and Sanitation:

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all work areas, equipment, and tools are sanitized regularly. Follow all food safety regulations and company policies related to hygiene and sanitation. Properly dispose of waste and by-products according to company procedures.

Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure production goals are met. Assist in training new employees on processing techniques and safety procedures. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications: Experience:

Previous experience in seafood processing or a similar food production environment is preferred but not required.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to handle seafood products safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to operate processing equipment and machinery. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 15 kg).

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Certifications:

Food Safety and Handling certification is an asset but not required.

Working Conditions:

Work in a refrigerated environment. Shift work may be required, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
