The posting

Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director of Content Strategy, The Business of Fashion is seeking a strategist to join its Content Strategy team.

You will be the bridge between BoF’s journalism and the world's leading fashion, beauty and luxury brands we partner with. You will brief senior executives on what matters most in the industry, create partner content to BoF’s editorial standards and help shape the commercial strategy behind our brand partnerships.

The Content Strategy team drives long-form content partnerships for BoF, and plays a crucial role in the delivery of company B2B subscriptions across BoF Professional and BoF Careers. It is responsible for creating, curating and presenting editorial content tailored to the needs of leading fashion, luxury and beauty brands and retailers.

The Business of Beauty brings the same kind of agenda-setting coverage to the beauty and wellness space. Today, our talented team of correspondents, editors, analysts, engineers, designers, marketers and more numbers more than 100 people in London, New York, Paris and Milan.

We are committed to supporting candidates with visible or non-visible disabilities, including neurodiversity (eg: autism, ADHD, dyslexia) or mental health conditions. We will work with you to understand what adjustments you may need in the recruitment process to ensure you are able to perform at your best and we want to create a safe space to support this. Should you require any particular adjustment to be made, please let the Talent Acquisition Specialist who is managing your application know when you are contacted for an interview, so we can consider how best we can support you with this.

What We Need You to Do

The Content Strategist role is one of the most varied at The Business of Fashion. Your time will be split evenly between researching, writing, presenting and providing content expertise to different commercial missions within BoF. Every piece of partner content we produce and present is held to the same standards of accuracy and integrity as our independent journalism.

Brief and present

  • Deliver quarterly briefings for global fashion, luxury and beauty brands, turning the latest BoF and BoF Careers reporting and analysis into clear, executive-ready insight.
  • Build presentation decks from scratch in Keynote, write speaker notes and answer questions from senior executives as the voice of BoF and its reporting.
  • Moderate panel discussions at community events.

Write and curate

  • Write short-form partner content to an editorial standard, including CEO interviews, event reports and employer branding features.
  • Curate the weekly BoF Professional newsletter for partner companies, selecting the reporting most relevant to their teams.
  • Fact-check and sub-edit long-form content, both your own and the wider team's, applying BoF style and protecting our editorial integrity.
  • Publish content through our CMS and newsletter platform.

Shape the strategy

  • Work with the Senior Director of Content Strategy to develop content strategies for partners.
  • Partner with sales, customer success and events colleagues to pitch ideas, plan partner programmes and support renewals.
  • Bring a point of view on what the industry needs to hear next, and help us find new formats for BoF to deliver it.

Who You Are

You might come from creative strategy, brand strategy, consultancy, trend forecasting, editorial or branded content. What matters is that you can turn complex analysis into a compelling story and deliver it with confidence to a room of senior executives.

  • A confident public speaker, with experience presenting to and taking questions from senior leaders in fashion, beauty or luxury.
  • A strong grasp of the commercial forces shaping the industry, including global market shifts, sustainability, technology and consumer behaviour.
  • The ability to digest long-form reports and case studies into sharp key takeaways.
  • You are a clear, accurate writer, and the rigour to fact-check and edit to a high standard. We'll help you develop your voice to BoF's editorial style.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once and work with colleagues at every level, from sales to senior leadership.

Nice to have

  • Experience interviewing executives or moderating panels.
  • An existing network of industry relationships.
  • Familiarity with working with a CMS and/or a newsletter platform.

You’ll Know You’re Successful When…

In your first 6 months:

  • You're ideating, producing and delivering quarterly partner briefings with another colleague.
  • You have written and published partner features that need minimal edits.
  • You have successfully supported and covered our BoF events and community gatherings.

By 12 months:

  • Partners cite your briefings as a reason they value their BoF membership.
  • You have strong relationships across the sales, customer success and events teams, and a growing network of industry contacts.
  • Colleagues come to you to workshop ideas, trusting you to find the version that serves both the partner and BoF’s editorial standards.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
