The posting

The Americas Public Policy team represents the company with governments, policymakers, NGOs, think tanks, nonprofits, and opinion leaders across North and South America. We advocate for the company on high-profile political, legislative, and regulatory issues, and help external audiences understand how our products work and the safeguards behind them.

Policy in the Americas is made at national, state, and local levels at once, which means the same issue can be live in a dozen places on different timelines.

You will take part in some of the most important policy conversations shaping the internet, with direct impact on how users, creators, and communities across the region experience our platforms.

We are looking for a politically savvy, relationship-driven manager to build and lead our seller and creator advocacy work, mobilizing sellers and small businesses to share how the platform supports their growth and drives economic impact with key opinion leaders. You will help build and manage a network of seller and creator advocates, bring them to state capitols and major events for legislative meetings, panels, and activations, and prepare them to tell their stories effectively. The role sits at the intersection of government relations, campaigns, and the business, and partners across public policy, communications, and e-commerce teams. The ideal candidate combines strong relationship management and storytelling with sound judgment and the ability to plan and execute advocacy events in a fast-moving environment. This is a highly collaborative, on-site role that requires five days per week in the office located in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities: - Grow the seller and creator advocacy program by identifying and onboarding participants and building strong relationships with small business owners, sellers, and creators from diverse backgrounds who can speak to the platform's economic impact. - Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of sellers participating in TikTok Shop's Small Business Advocacy Program. - Partner with Americas Public Policy teams to integrate seller stories into campaigns, events, and policy engagements that highlight TikTok Shop's impact on businesses and communities and advance policy priorities. - Plan and execute advocacy programs and events that connect creators, small business owners, and sellers with policymakers. Support TikTok's presence at conferences and convenings, including booths, product demonstrations, and interactive activations. - Develop briefing materials, playbooks, and repeatable processes to scale the program, and support research and storytelling that demonstrate TikTok's impact on small businesses. - Manage event budgets, vendors, and logistics, and track participation, outcomes, and follow-up actions.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Affairs, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Minimum 3 years of experience in public policy, government relations, political campaigns, public policy-focused communications, advocacy, or community engagement. - Working understanding of the current political environment and federal, state, and local legislative processes, as well as the creator economy and/or the small business and e-commerce landscape. - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to earn trust with a diverse range of external partners and work effectively across cross-functional teams and senior leadership. - Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events, campaigns, and workstreams simultaneously and drive results with limited oversight. - Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive policy matters and confidential information. - Ability to travel frequently and work occasional evenings and weekends in support of priority events.

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in grassroots mobilization and advocacy, or political and community organizing, on a campaign, at a trade association or nonprofit, or in-house on a corporate public policy team. - Experience working with content creators, small businesses, or online sellers, and a working understanding of the content creation process on TikTok, including its content creation features and tools, and TikTok Shop. - Experience building and sustaining a network of external advocates, partners, or volunteers and keeping them engaged over time. - Experience planning policy events such as fly-ins, advocacy days, in-district meetings, conference panels, or booth activations involving external stakeholders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
