The posting

Help teams get more from every token.

We’re building the control layer for how modern teams use AI. Come help us make that work more visible, efficient, and secure.

The role

Join a fast-growing early-stage team where you’ll work closely with founders who have built multiple startups and exceptional principal engineers. Together, we’re launching an innovative AI product that both engineers and CFOs love, in a collaborative and generous environment where the food is delicious and the conversations are hilarious.

This is an in-office role based in San Francisco’s China Basin/South Beach neighborhood. We offer a competitive salary and generous early-stage equity.

Tech stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, Go, and Rust.

Who you are

  • An excellent, confident engineer: You know how to build robust systems cleverly and efficiently, and you choose the right technology for the task.
  • An over-communicator: You keep everyone in the loop, share your ideas generously, and raise flags early when work is blocked or scope needs adjustment.
  • An iterative builder: You balance thoughtfulness with speed to reach the most viable solution. You learn from feedback loops and are excited to keep making the product better.
  • Product-minded: You love making products faster, more powerful, and easier to support. You understand how critical your work is to the success of the business.
  • Comfortable with early-stage ambiguity: You thrive in a fast-moving, high-agency environment alongside talented, like-minded colleagues.

What you’ll do

  • Build end to end: Collaboratively design, build, and deploy full-stack features, from customer-facing interfaces to backend microservices and database schemas.
  • Collaborate closely: Work directly with every team member in continuous feedback loops through daily standups, whiteboard sessions, and quick syncs.
  • Engage with customers: Help customers get expert value from the product, gather direct feedback, and use those insights to guide improvements.
  • Set and support engineering standards: Help lay the foundation for our codebase, test suites, deployment pipelines, and developer tooling.
  • Practice pragmatism: Balance technical debt with delivery speed, knowing when to ship a quick solution and when to invest in scalable infrastructure.
  • Build alignment: Document technical decisions, explain tradeoffs transparently, bring strong opinions loosely held, and know when to lead and when to serve.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience building and supporting modern web applications in production environments.
  • Strong command of full-stack web architecture, including modern TypeScript frameworks such as React and Next.js, Python backends such as FastAPI, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • A proven track record at early-stage startups or in fast-paced product incubation environments where rapid shipping is a priority.
  • Exceptional communication skills. You enjoy discussing complex technical concepts in service of the product and turning your ideas into working software.
  • You treat LLMs as a core part of how you build. You’re fluent with coding agents, comfortable designing prompts and evals, and eager to find the edge of what these models can do—then push it further.

Why join us?

  • Ownership and impact: You’ll be one of our earliest engineers, directly shaping the core product architecture and contributing to our builder culture.
  • Zero bureaucracy: No organizational molasses, gratuitous approval chains, or performative meetings.
  • World-class teammates: Work alongside exceptional engineers and repeat startup entrepreneurs who love building useful things that solve real problems.
  • A flexible, trust-based culture: We focus on winning together, and you’ll have the autonomy to do your best work.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
