Who we’re looking for
Toyota Logistics Services (TLS) is looking for highly motivated and qualified Vehicle Logistics Trainees (VLT). The VLT Program will provide you with an enhanced understanding of vital areas of our business. The duration of the program is up to 18 months and will take place at a TLS Vehicle Distribution Center (VDC). During this program, you will discover how our company interfaces with customers and business partners during day-to-day operations. You can witness the key interplay of the Toyota Way and Toyota Production System (TPS) with safety, associate relations, production scheduling, vehicle logistics, parts, quality, and kaizen. Finally, you'll be given the opportunity to employ the new skills you have acquired throughout the program.
What you’ll be doing
Rotational assignments are designed to provide hands-on learning, leadership experience, and operational insight while building a comprehensive understanding of TLS operations. In addition, you will receive core standardized training courses.
Logistics Rotation: Gain an understanding of how TLS plans and schedules vehicle shipments while working with logistics partners and the sales organization to ensure customer delivery expectations are met.
Production Support Rotations (Parts, Quality, and Kaizen): Develop operational knowledge, strengthen problem-solving skills, and identify continuous improvement opportunities across VDC processes.
Production Supervision Rotation: Apply the skills developed throughout the program while working directly with hourly production team members. This rotation is designed to build supervisory and leadership capabilities through hands-on experience in associate relations, production planning and scheduling, safety, quality, customer satisfaction, efficiency, cost management, and continuous improvement. Trainees will support VDC operational objectives while developing the skills necessary for future leadership opportunities.
