Job Description

The Business Analyst serves as a lead functional resource for the school’s Slate CRM environment and related communications workflows. This role independently manages complex user support, troubleshooting, campaign execution, reporting requests, process improvements, and selected system enhancements in support of enrollment and school communications objectives.

The Business Analyst owns assigned CRM projects and process improvement efforts from requirements gathering through testing, implementation, launch, and post-launch support. Working with limited oversight and in partnership with the Academic Analytics Manager, the position exercises independent judgment in resolving difficult system, data, and workflow issues; translates business needs into effective CRM configurations, workflows, reports, dashboards, and user practices; recommends and implements approved improvements; and provides guidance and training to users.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to independently analyze and resolve difficult and often complex CRM, data, system, and workflow issues affecting multiple users or functional areas.
  • Ability to manage projects or major assignments with limited oversight, including prioritization, requirements gathering, stakeholder coordination, testing, implementation, issue resolution, and post-launch support.
  • Demonstrated experience with CRM systems, enrollment technologies, data management, reporting tools, and/or email communications platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a functional or technical subject-matter resource for users, stakeholders, or project teams.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing work from intake or requirements gathering through resolution, implementation, and follow-up support.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business needs into CRM configurations, queries, reports, dashboards, workflow changes, or operational solutions.
  • Ability to gather and evaluate business requirements and translate user needs into effective CRM configurations, workflows, reports, dashboards, queries, or operational processes.
  • Ability to recommend, implement, document, and maintain improvements to CRM processes, standards, workflows, and operating procedures.
  • Ability to influence users and stakeholders regarding CRM-related policies, practices, procedures, and adoption of improved processes.
  • Ability to coach, train, and provide guidance to staff users and less experienced team members on system functionality, best practices, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to evaluate data flows, identify discrepancies across systems, and implement solutions that improve data integrity, consistency, and downstream reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Four years of progressive professional experience in data analysis, CRM administration, system configuration, reporting, technical administration, customer support, communications operations, or related work in an enrollment-focused, higher education, or similarly complex environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience serving as a subject-matter expert or lead functional resource for Slate in a higher education environment.
  • Experience supporting Slate Deliver campaigns, audience segmentation, and related communications workflows.
  • Experience with SQL, query-building tools, APIs, file-based integrations, and/or HTML/CSS.
  • Experience designing and optimizing multi-step communication journeys, including segmentation, branching logic, triggers, testing, and performance analysis.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, or analytical outputs and supporting data flow and issue resolution across CRM and related enterprise systems.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
