Role Objective

Ensure the academic quality, integrity, and compliance of UniAthena's academic programmes by verifying that curricula, learning outcomes, assessments, evaluation practices, and learning resources align with awarding body requirements, international quality standards, and institutional academic governance frameworks.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain internal verification frameworks, academic quality standards, policies, and quality assurance processes across academic programmes.
  2. Review and verify course curricula to ensure alignment with qualification specifications, programme objectives, and awarding body requirements.
  3. Verify that module learning outcomes are appropriately designed, mapped, and aligned with qualification levels and expected learner competencies.
  4. Evaluate module guides, learning resources, assessment briefs, and academic documentation to ensure compliance with international academic quality standards and institutional expectations.
  5. Interpret qualification frameworks and academic standards to validate the academic level, complexity, and learner expectations of programmes across subject areas.
  6. Verify that assessment documents comply with awarding body regulations, qualification specifications, assessment criteria, and academic policies.
  7. Conduct internal verification of assessment evaluation, grading, and feedback processes to ensure consistency, fairness, validity, and compliance.
  8. Identify academic quality gaps, compliance risks, and non-conformities, recommending and tracking corrective and preventive actions.
  9. Establish systems for monitoring, tracking, reporting, and documenting academic quality and compliance across the programme lifecycle.
  10. Support programme development, curriculum reviews, and academic teams by providing guidance on quality assurance and awarding body compliance.
  11. Maintain quality assurance documentation and evidence required for internal governance, external audits, and awarding body reviews.
  12. Drive continuous improvement and digitalisation of academic quality assurance processes through standardisation, automation, and data-driven quality monitoring.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  1. Master's degree in Management, Education, or a related discipline.
  2. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in academic quality assurance, internal verification, curriculum development, or assessment quality within higher education or EdTech.
  3. Experience working with UK awarding bodies or international qualification frameworks is preferred.
  4. Internal Quality Assurance (IQA), Internal Verification (IV), or equivalent quality assurance certification is desirable.
