Adjunct Faculty - Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
College of Health and Natural Sciences
Position Summary
The Adjunct Faculty member in Nurse Anesthesia provides high-quality instruction and student support within the College of Health and Natural Sciences. This position is responsible for teaching assigned courses, evaluating student performance, maintaining academic standards, and contributing to student success in the nurse anesthesia program.
Essential Responsibilities
- Teach assigned didactic, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical courses in nurse anesthesia.
- Develop and deliver course content consistent with program and accreditation standards.
- Evaluate and assess student learning through assignments, examinations, and clinical performance.
- Provide timely feedback and academic guidance to students.
- Maintain accurate student and course records in accordance with university policies.
- Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum discussions, and program activities as requested.
- Support the mission and goals of the College of Health and Natural Sciences and the University.
- Comply with all university policies, accreditation requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
- Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure, as applicable.
- Master's degree in Nursing, Nurse Anesthesia, or a related field.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in anesthesia practice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Nursing, Nurse Anesthesia, Education, or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience in higher education or clinical education.
- Experience with simulation-based learning and clinical instruction.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in classroom, laboratory, simulation, clinical, and office settings.
- May require occasional evening or weekend instruction based on course schedules.
