Position Summary
The Adjunct Nursing Faculty member provides high-quality instruction to undergraduate and/or graduate nursing students in classroom, laboratory, clinical, and/or online settings. The adjunct faculty member supports student learning, maintains academic standards, and contributes to the mission of the Nursing Program and the University.
Essential Responsibilities
- Teach assigned nursing courses in accordance with approved curriculum and program requirements.
- Prepare course materials, syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
- Facilitate student learning through effective instruction and engagement.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and grades.
- Supervise students in clinical, laboratory, simulation, and/or online learning environments as assigned.
- Adhere to university, college, accreditation, and nursing program policies and procedures.
- Maintain current expertise in nursing practice and nursing education.
- Participate in faculty meetings, training, and program activities as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related nursing field from an accredited institution.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Clinical experience in the relevant area of nursing practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience in higher education.
- Experience with online instruction and learning management systems.
- Specialty certification relevant to assigned teaching responsibilities.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in classroom, laboratory, clinical, and/or online environments. Clinical teaching may require travel to affiliated healthcare facilities.
